Got you. So for uppers I should get a 14.5 with flash suppressor, or 16" barrel with 1:9 to 1:7 twist, mid length, BCG and charger with it...

Stick with 1/7 I think, and if you get the 14.5, make sure its pinned to 16 or buy one yourself that will get it there. A standard A2 won't work.
