Reading Tigernet and it seems the fake Tigers with their weak version of Death Valley are having issues...their AD sent a message to fans asking them to buy bowl tickets...

LSU has sold just more than 10,000 tickets for the Dec. 31 Chick-fil-A Bowl against Clemson, according to senior associate athletic director Herb Vincent, though that number is still far short of the allotment of 16,000 the school received.

Per The Advocate we've sold over 10k. Allotment was 16k.

I wish it would hurt the SEC's money intake. It's stupid to shove LSU down the bowl pecking order just because two other East teams have recently or will recently play Clemson (South Carolina, Georgia).

LSU should be the 4th SEC pick, and not the 6th. Screw the bowls, I don't care if they lose money. I have nothing against the Chick-Fil A bowl... if LSU finished 6th in the SEC. But LSU did not finish 6th.

LSU vs Michigan in the Outback was the perfect matchup, or LSU truly earned the Cotton Bowl slot, but the SEC only cared about "protecting" Georgia. I guess a Les Miles vs. Michigan matchup wouldn't draw any interest, or for the 12th year in a row Texas A&M can play Oklahoma.

The players would probably rather play in the Georgia Dome in Atlanta than in Orlando and probably Tampa.

Other than the Cotton Bowl, BCS, or Sugar Bowl, it probably would have been tough for the school to sell out tickets.

This is not as much that people don't want to attend the game because they are mad at the SEC. This is more about a sign of the times that people are having to be VERY CAREFUL about how they spend their money.

those numbers will be skewed. Many tiger fans are getting half price tickets on stubhub, ebay, ect. (like me)

why pay $90 from LSU when you can pay $35 on stubhub. LSU rapes me on my season tix. I am just doing my small piece in returning the favor.

Absolutely not.......if this game actually mattered people would go there in droves. At this point who in the hell cares unless we are playing for a championship? This is why there should be about 50 teams that play for the championship with a playoff at the end, and the remaining lower tier teams play for bowl games.

Other than the 2 top bowls, the rest SUCK! The BCS are a bunch of bull shite, however the play off system will be just as bad. LIKE THE MULLIGAN BAMA GOT LAST YEAR. Have you'll seen the east teams bama plays next year? Ky'& Vandy. I noticed Little Nicky hasn't scheduled ULM lately. Bama's new mascot is not an elephant but a hourse shoe!

As someone else mentioned why buy tickets through LSU when you can buy better and cheaper seats on Ebay and Stubhub? Even if I had to pay $80 or $90 per ticket I'm not paying that for an endzone view, I'd rather watch it on TV. That being said there are plenty of better seats at a much better price available.

I love it when the free market raises its ugly head and slaps around the "giants" every now and then

I've used Venue Kings in the past, and had good luck. Saw some nosebleeds for $30 bucks yesterday, and plenty of lower level seats as well. My guess is that ticket sales will pick up a bit over the next few weeks with increased advertising in the area.

I'm guessing the crowd will end up 50/50ish with a full lower bowl and sparse upper area. The stubhub factor will definitely have a role w ticket sales. I think most Tiger fans (myself included) have found other things to do on New Year's Eve and are saving $ for trips to Dallas and Athens next year. I go to most bowl games but this one just isn't that appealing

I've been saying this for years now, which is sad, but here goes. There is only one way in, my simple little mind, that the BCS can make every bowl relevant. Match up teams based on their BCS rankings, and CARRY THOSE RANKINGS FROM YOUR WIN/LOSS OF THAT BOWL GAME OVER TO NEXT SEASON. This would replace preseason ranking bias, and guarentee your team is ranked next year to start if they finished with a good year. For instance, if Lsu ended the regulr season at #7 in the BCS, they would play #6 or #8, whichever the bigger money maker would be. If they win, they are assured at least #6 (if #6 was played), or #7 if they dropped down to play. But of course they could move up depending on who lost in front of them.

Smaller conference teams wouldn't have to fight about automatic BCS qualifing conferences, because the rankings would determine it. And what better way to make the Meineke Custom Tint and Muffler Whistler Tip Installation Bowl relevant than to make the ranking of the teams involved actually mean something? But, what the frick do I know, I'm just a fan with a plan.

Guess LSU fans don't travel so well. Proof that LSU fans (myself included as I am not going to the game either) are spoiled. We went the 2005 Peach Bowl with a 10-2 record (biggest difference was we actually won the West and still played in Peach Bowl). Move forward to 2012 and fans are pissed about having (not getting) to go to the Chik-Fil-A Bowl.

This bowl is in danger of not selling out for the first time in over 15 years.

Maybe it will force permanent change.....there are few major teams who actually care about these pissant bowls.
