Got in late Friday night... Hit up Drago's loved the charbroiled oysters! I had the blackened red fish... It was tasty... But I can make my own blackening seasoning at home with a whole lot more redfish for way cheaper.... Hubby had grilled black drum.... Sat was crazy... Keep in mind the high school football teams were in the dome .. And a lot were at the Hilton .. 7 AM sat... Fire alarm goes off... Grabbed our keys, wallets, my purse and all my meds .. I'm a type 1 juvenile diabetic... Run down 13 flights of stairs in our pj's.. False alarm someone pulled the fire alarm! Went to A Mercian Sector for lunch and not impressed.. I had the hot dog and hubby French dip.... Stopped by central grocery for a mufellata and side of olive salad... Put in the fridge in room... I wanted oysters again for supper so hubby got me some.... Sunday we left.. Hit up stein's on way home.. Got some bagels and a Reuben.. Found out they get bagels shipped from NYC... Davidovich.... Will order.... Would love to spend longer just to try different restaurants... Also went to cafe du monde... No elaboration necessary... I will now try to make my own charbroiled oysters.., you can really tell what's in them

Dragos and American Sector were exceedingly shitty choices.

Yeah American Sector.. Garbage.... My husband who does not have my palate, even said he expected better... I didn't even eat the hot dog... One bite ....I was finished... The "house" pickles were better

Hopefully, you can pick some better places on the next trip. That wasn't much of a food selection. You really should have gone to Casamento's for lunch and gotten the oysters there. You would have loved them.
Drago's recipe is on the inner webs. Just google for it.

I think, in her thread, we suggested getting the oysters at Drago's and heading somewhere else for dinner. I know we suggested Casamento's.
Yeah, good idea to plan ahead and make reservations if that was an issue. Other than the chargrilled oysters, those places just weren't great places to go at all. Sort of a waste for a food trip. I'd have at least gone to Cochon Butcher over Amercian Sector, though I've never been to AS. I love Butcher.

Sounds like a decent enough weekend. I like the oysters at Drago's, but should definitely not have ordered other dishes there. Casamento's, as Gris said here and others mentioned in the previous thread, would have been better. American Sector .. eh, it's whatever. Probably the worst of Besh's ventures. But come on, a hot dog? Central Grocery could easily have been replaced with something else (Johnny's, Killer Poboy, Coop's, Verti Marte). Good call on Stein's. They do things right.
People actually take those things seriously?

Yeah... Like a loudspeaker came on... Our light flashed... And the loudspeaker said please head the nearest stairwell
