Found it... LB Jerry Brown was the player who was killed.

And his roommate, I believe. I'm seeing some "thug POS" chatter around in other threads, but I know when I was younger, I made some AWFUL decisions that thankfully ended no lives. Could have, easily, but didn't. Doesn't mean I'm a "thug".

They both made bad decisions last night, and it ended a life. Thankfully just one. It's a tragedy.

Prior DUI arrest and conviction. Alcohol and excessive speed at 4AM resulted in a teammates death. I think thug is fitting.

If you went to jail for DUI and then still later on commited manslaughter while intoxicated you deserve to get called a lot of things.

Things happen in 3s... Be careful out there if you live in an NFL market, folks.

The line between normal guy and deadbeat piece of shite is pretty thin. Iv been lucky with some decisions iv made in my life that could have easily resulted in some serious consequences. Doest mean this guy is a thug.

Not a thug... but definitely an idiot and likely an a-hole.

We've all made decisions that at the time were dumb, foolish, you name it. Fortunately, most of us learn from those decisions and don't repeat them.

Brent obviously didn't learn from his past decisions and it resulted in the death of a teammate. Perhaps thug is a bit strong. How about dumb and irresponsible?

Sure I would:

Young
Dumb
Irresponsible
Ignorant of life-changing consequences
Etc...

Just not sure where "thug" comes into play...

Sounds about right

They were also teammates at Illinois.

I couldn't imagine being responsible for a good friend's death.
