He needs to go to jail for at least 20 years.

What is this intoxication manslaughter BS, its 2nd degree murder. A person knows damn well when getting behind the wheel drunk what they are capable of doing.

Would it be called manslaughter if a person took out an AK47 and blindly fired it down a busy street and happened to kill someone? I doubt it.

The player who died was OLB Jerry Brown.

Irving, Texas police confirmed Saturday afternoon that Cowboys nose tackle Josh Brent has been arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter after an early morning automobile accident killed passenger Jerry Brown, a member of the Cowboys' practice squad, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Brown was 25.

More details via the Morning News:

Brent was responsive and talking to officers when police arrived, authorities said. Brown, the passenger, was unresponsive and rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Brent was given a sobriety test and failed, according to police. He was taken to a hospital where his blood was drawn. He was then taken to the Irving City Jail and booked with a second degree felony charge.

According to police, Brent was driving at a high rate of speed when his car "hit the outside curb," flipped, and came to rest in the middle of the road.

He killed Jerry Brown. Linebacker for the cowboys. I guess they wrecked and Brent was driving.

Wonder if the Cowboys follow the Chiefs lead and honor their murderer as well?

I wouldn't put it on quite that level. Brown voluntarily got into the car with a drunk driver.

If he killed an innocent person, I would agree with the analogy. And I still think he should be held accoumtable. But Brown is partly at fault too.
