The Crossroads Guitar Festival is a music festival and benefit concert first held in 2004 and again in 2007 and 2010. The festivals benefit the Crossroads Centre founded by Eric Clapton, a drug treatment center located in Antigua. The concerts are also intended to be a showcase for a variety of guitarists. All were hand-picked by Eric Clapton himself, who addressed the 2007 audience, saying that each were some of the very best, and those who had earned his respect. The festival will be held on April 12-13, 2013, at Madison Square Garden
These are arguably some of my favorite concert DVDs, and has such a great lineup every year. Legends like B.B. King, Eric Clapton, and Buddy Guy meet younger guitarist like Derek Trucks, Joe Bonasmassa, and Robert Randolph for some some great blues music. I discovered Gary Clark Jr. on the 2010 DVD, and became a big fan instantly. Has anyone gone to the any of the previous festivals or plan on going to the one in 2013? The 2013 lineup is as follows: Jeff Beck Dave Biller Booker T Doyle Bramhall II Allman Brothers Band Gary Clark Jr. Eric Clapton Citizen Cope Robert Cray Andy Fairweather Low Vince Gill John Mayer Blake Mills Keb Mo Brad Paisley Robert Randolph Kurt Rosenwinkel Robbie Robertson John Scofield Keith Urban Jimmy Vaughan Buddy Guy Allan Holdsworth BB King Earl Klugh Sonny Landreth Jonny Lang Albert Lee Los Lobos Taj Mahal Here are some of my favorites from the shows: Gary Clark Jr. - Bright Lights Robert Randolph, Joe Bonamassa, Pino Daniele - Going Down Derek Trucks/ Susan Tedeschi/ Tedeschi Trucks Band - Midnight In Harlem Jeff Beck - Big Block Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood - Crossroads John Mayer - Ain't No Sunshine Buddy Guy, Ron Wood, and Jonny Lang - Five Long Years Feel free to post some of yours, these DVDs have some good stuff. I'll take any good blues for that matter.

Not a fan of his voice, but the guy can play guitar there's no doubt about that. Clapton is trying to broaden the range of the festival with some country guys. Keith Urban and Brad Paisley are both talented guitarists with blues roots, so I can respect the additions. It is after all a guitar festival.

So I've decided this morning that I'm going to this show at Madison Square Garden. I got goose bumps I'm so excited. Anybody have any hotel recommendations ?

If it wasn't right before Jazzfest, I'd probably give serious thought to it also. What a lineup!
