Anyone see Invention USA last night with the Tree Rider. It looks like it would be a useful stand. Basically its a motorized climbing stand. Tree Rider

That's a pretty neat climber.

By the way, the first advertisement on that page could probably get an award for being the worst advertisement I've ever seen.

No sweat climbing?

How about packing that behemoth into the woods.

Do not want.

That is exactly what I thought when I saw it. If you aren't gonna carry it around, it has to stay on the same tree. Why not get a lock-on or ladder stand then?

It's got wheels to roll, no carrying. I want this thing bad. In the store theres two of them listed. One for 800 and another for 400. I wonder what the difference is?

The difference is, when you pay$400, you're paying 1/2

Yeah, looks like they are trying to raise funds for production. Delivery was listed as August, 2013. Having people pay half now to reserve one helps to pay for the manufacturing.

As for the product, I think that is awesome. My dad is 75 and very active, but I could see him really benefiting from that. I wonder how much it weights though. The wheels seem very convenient but you still have to pull it through the woods. Great idea with the accessory charging port, my phone always runs down when on teh stand.

How fitting is it that the guy using this ridiculous thing is also hunting with a crossbow?

F that POS. Aint no way I'm rolling my arse up a tree and then just ploppong down. the damn thing only has one strap and it has wheels on it to help it just roll down the tree. The thing leans and sways when the dude farts for godsake.

I'll stick with my ol'man.

If you watch (and he mentions it), he puts a ratchet strap around the tree once he is in place.

What bothered me was that he was doing all that jumping around and he didn't have a safety strap on.

I always thought about designing one of these. It would be good for semi-disabled hunters, but I figured there wouldn't be enough of a market for it.

So in fact the thing is not stable

There isn't another climbing stand on the market that requires you to ratchet strap it to a tree. So what he should call it is a lock on stand that rolls up the tree.

I believe that is the target consumer. The less abled hunter that still has the ability to sit in a tree and hunt, possibly even convined to a wheel chair. It's obviously not for everyone

I can see the benefits for someone who is disabled, but have people really gotten this lazy?
