re: Cost on digging pond myself vs. hiring someone - snake2985 on 10/24/16 at 8:50 am
You may also look at trading some of the dirt to someone who does this type of work. You get a pond and a house pad and they get some dirt to sell to another customer. Should get a reduced price on the work...

It is 30' across, 14 ' high in the middle and has 2 10x10 roll up doors and an entry door on the side I need to cover. Can I simply screw the boards i...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (2)
Is 25 acres enough for a personal hunting spot - snake2985 on 5/26/16 at 9:19 am
There's a tract of land I've come across for a good price but its only 25 acres. Its surrounded by managed CRP and farmland. It looks to be a prime location with deer sign and travel paths abundant. But my concern is if I start hunting it the deer will change their travel patterns and I will be out ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (11)

I am looking to put in pond in, nothing huge but about a 1/4 acre. Can any of you point me in the right direction as far as depth, shelves, shape, aquatic plants, etc. I would like to be a little more prepared before I have someone put in a hole in my backyard that I can't do anything with....Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (8)
Alligator Weed - snake2985 on 11/3/15 at 9:42 pm
I have a problem with Alligator Weed that has taken over one of my duck holes. Does anyone have any good solutions to killing this stuff with chemical herbicide. I thought I had it knocked back with a glyphospate but with all the rain we just got it looks like the weeds are back better than ever. ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (8)
Side by Side help - snake2985 on 7/20/15 at 11:32 am
OB, I'm in the market for a side by side but am having some trouble finding something to fit my needs. I like the Polaris Ranger's but they are wide, even the midsize units, for most of the trails at the camp. Does anyone have a recommendation or review of the Landmaster UTV's, they seem to fir the ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (4)

This is a pic of the valve seat. There is no oring and the seat is not removable. I did buff the seat last night and it appears that the leak has slowed. I will try to fine tune it a bit more tonight to get it to make...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
honda foreman carb trouble - snake2985 on 10/9/13 at 10:10 am
I have a 2005 honda foreman 500 that will continually drip/leak gas from the carburetor overflow. I have taken it apart, cleaned all the jets, replaced the float and the needle valve, and it still leaks gas. I am at my wits end. Any suggestions....Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (4)
re: Small Cattle Operation Advice - snake2985 on 9/18/13 at 3:12 pm
The plan, at least so far, is to have about 15 calves, get them around 500 lbs, rotate them on the fields, and sell them about 800 lbs. Repeat. Is this even feasible. The BIL says this is the way to go. I am clueless. It is not too late for me to back out. ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (5)
You have to like cows, because you will be fooling with them and checking on them.
I won't be fooling with them near as much as the BIL. Probably a %66-%33 split. and he does like to mess with them...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
