The Timbers' Twitter account just confirmed that deal.

Nah, they're moderately important. Most of the high picks will be on the senior team and a few will start from Day One.

So slightly less than NFL and NBA but more than baseball

Yeah, that's a good comparison.

SKC picked up Benny Feilhaber today for draft picks and allocation money. Good pick-up, we've needed more in midfield, especially with Espinoza almost certainly leaving.

Somehow I missed this, but I like it.

As mentioned in the other thread, Besler resigned with SKC.

SKC also just traded a second round pick for Ike Opara. Good to add depth to the CB position

Resigned, really? I thought he just signed a new contract

Portland picked up Ryan Johnson and Milos Kocic from Toronto FC. We traded away a first round draft pick and Joe Bendik for players I have a negative opinion of, but we didn't really give too much away so I guess I'll deal with it.

Looks like SKC is going to have another great defense next year. I don't think they lost anyone and just signed Besler and Opara.

American soccer rejoices this morning: NYRB have released Rafa Marquez. It's safe to enjoy MLS again.

Come on MLS, get Kaka!

Although it would be funny to have caca and titi on the same team.

Seems possible, if Mix liked playing for Caleb Porter on the U-23 team.

Portland GM Gavin Wilkinson said on a podcast that the Timbers are talking to Jonathan Bornstein, Robbie Findley; one could be signed soon

Bornstein was a solid MLS defender, and more than anything Portland needs to shore up its defense. He also played a good bit of left midfielder for Chivas USA during their fleeting period of relevance.

I'm not really sure that Robbie Findley would be that great of an acquisistion considering they already have decent strikers in Bright Dike and OLASDM. They also have young Colombian Jose Adolfo Valencia, whose six playoff goals led the Portland Timbers to the 2012 MLS Cup in my FM2012 save. Whether or not Kris Boyd returns remains to be seen. He doesn't exactly fit the player mold of the tiki-taka player Caleb Porter desires.

Sporting KC and Portland have made the most proactive moves so far in the offseason.

I think the despicable trashy Dynamo might go after a more marquee designated player.

Seba Le Toux's move to Philly should work out nicely if he can link up with Lionard Pajoy and Jack McInerny. Although, I don't think that alone will be enough to fix Philly's myriad of issues.

Seattle need to decide if Fredy Montero's prolific regular seasons outweigh his woeful postseason performances.
