LSU/Alabama vs Eastern teams

since I am home sick and have nothing else to do and i am tired of hearing how alabama has any easy eastern schedule, i decided to look into it. since 2000, the breakdown goes down like this"
UF: LSU 13, Bama 4
UT: Bama 13, LSU 6
Vandy: Bama 7 LSU 4
UK: LSU 6 Bama 3
USC: Bama 6 LSU 5
UGA: LSU 4 Bama 4
Mizzou: Bama 1
its only the permanent teams that really make the difference between the two.

Pretty big difference, eh?

It's a matter of the state of the program of the permanent opponents. Florida has been leaps and bounds ahead of UT for most of the past decade.

It is the bridge years that is the problem. 2012 and 2013. The books got thrown out and Bama has been provided an overwhelmingly advantage in both years. Replace Uga with Mizz. Have more division home games than road games. Drop Uga and pick up Kentucky.

if UT could hire good coaches there wouldnt be that big of a difference. Alabama has no control over that.

yes SBC. i understand that.
Posted on 12/3/12 at 2:59 pm to NOLATIGAH
but with that even said SBC, the advantage is not that great.

That's because there used to be a rotation. The 2012 and 2013 schedules had no rotation whatsoever. They were "bridge" years in which the SEC just threw together whatever they could.
Bama: Mizzou/Tennessee then Kentucky/Tennessee
LSU: South Carolina/Florida then UGA/Florida
These schedules were made within the last 12 months and it is well known the general expectations for all of those teams. Bama's team = teh suck. LSU's teams = top 10.

Of course over time it is even except the permanents. We had an established cycle until expansion. Permanents should be done away with as well.

This^
The Bama homers in the office saw an easy way to pave Bama a path to a fricking dynasty and it's unfair bullshite. frick the SEC.

Personally, I think the SEC needs to go a 9 game schedule to mitigate scheduling discrepancies anyway.
I don't like the fact that, with 7 teams each and an 8 game schedule, the West and East might as well be completely different conferences.

i have no problems with permanents because i think the sec is about to realign again with another expansion and Alabama could become one of our permanets

Last two years and next year not a great difference? Alabama is in in Miami because of the schedule difference.

That's not true, with the exception of Mizzou. Look at the opponents and they follow the same pattern.
I looked it up when the schedules came out looking for conspiracy and unfortunatly didn't find one. I'll write it out if I have a chance today.
I'm not saying it was out of the SEC's hands, because they clearly chose to go this path, but it was not entirly made up.

alabama stunk when they played the hard teams. now that they are good they are playing the easier ones. L

They're in Miami because we gifted them a win in a game we dominated. Bottom line is if we win that game, they don't go this year. They beat us and Georgia, lost a close game to a good A&M team, and destroyed every other team they played.
Scheduling might suck, but LSU had their chance and they blew it. Even if we didn't have Florida on our schedule this year Bama would still be going over us.

Right however they wouldn't turn it around in a heartbeat. Even when they had Fatty there, their last couple seasons were not that good. I think the trip to the SECCG in '07 was the best thing they did. They generally didn't have good seasons near the end of his time there, then they got Dooley and we all know how that went.
So while Bama has to have the 3rd Saturday game in October that is always a barnburner, we have to play Florida, Georgia, South Carolina (this season) (Bama didn't play them this season, nor do they play them next season), they play Kentucky, TN, Auburn, Arkansas and TN (all who will be rebuilding their programs).
So tell me where that's fair.

birdman its all cyclical over time. that is why i went back to 2000. there were years that we had the advantage, but in 2003 we did have uga uf and usc that year.
