Another factor. Iowa St. wanted to go to Liberty Bowl also, if possible. This year is the 40th Anniversary of Coach Johnny Majors taking the Cyclones to the Liberty Bowl. I personally don't know why that is a big deal considering ISU lost, finished 5-6-1 and Coach Majors moved on to Pitt. But to each his own.

That would explain why the HOD Bowl would have traded Iowa St to the Liberty for Tech.

look, the odds were never good. they were never in La Techs favor.

even though the 3 things listed (which I disagree with as keys) happened it STILL was very likely NIU would get the juice to move up.

It had been talked about all week.

and again, if the Liberty really wanted Tech, they would have given an invite instead waiting it out.

your AD made a shitty gamble and is digging a massive hole to crawl out of.

support his story if you want.

its no skin off my back.

just know you guys are going nowhere with a fool like him running the show.

Recruiting Myth #256

I've heard stories of negative recruiting from multiple athletes.

So again, you are ignorant.

You really believe "they turned down a bowl game" is going to sway an athlete, don't you?

He sounds like a spoiled LSU fan. Not sure why so many on this board are making so much fun of him...

you are dumb to think it wouldn't

athletes can get turned by things as trivial as uniforms.

I wish they wouldn't have happened. We would be bowling.

So you think it will help La Tech then?

As in, if Tech is going up against another school for an athlete, I can assure you that other school is going to use NOT going to a bowl game this year against Tech.

Recruiting Myth #256

As the father of 3 kids who were recruited for different sports, I can tell you that's NO MYTH! Anyone who thinks so is either a fool or a moron, but probably both! Recruiters will leave no stone unturned.

What the Tech AD did was set their football program back four years. Dykes will be gone, no decent coach will accept that job with Van Der Stoopid as AD, and with other regional mid-majors - Louisiana-Monroe, Arkansas State, Louisiana-Lafayette - getting more national recognition.

Can't put lipstick on this pig. This sucks for LaTech. Big time.

yes

i mean think about parents. selling them involves a lot of trust. how can they trust this athletic department after completely fricking up? would you want your son taking the risk of losing a bowl his senior year b/c of the AD's incompetence?

Don't know, but some guy called in during the afternoon sports radio show in Ruston and said a ULL recruiter had used it this morning on a kid he knows, his brother's kid or a friends kid, don't remember which.

You explain your situation with ending your relationship with the WAC. Tell him of the increased number of bowl guarantees you receive by joining CUSA.

Btw, if the ULL coach throws his bullshite at you. Remind the kid of how it must feel to be a member of the sunbelt. MTSU Blue Raiders...Playing for a conference championship on Saturday. Home for the holidays on Sunday!

And Hud can say, yeah, but their AD is such a fricktard that he turned down a bowl game and screwed those 30+ seniors out of their final game that would have been the exclamation point on their greatest season. Never forget, Tech shite the bed!

Yeah I'm pretty sure Tech has nothing to say about being home for the holidays. MTSU is joining CUSA. Every SBC team that's bowl eligible and isn't leaving will be in a bowl this year. UL, ASU, WKU, ULM.

Plus we'll be in a bowl this year again and we won ours last year, so there's that. I'll pick you up a t shirt or something, you seem really envious.
