is the LSU fanbase going back to normal and finally not cheering for other sec teams because they are sec teams? The last few years the conference first shite has been annoyingly high,but it seems now that its lost its luster for LSU fans after this last schedule stuff and bowl fall out. So for those that have been all sec for the last few years are you still all sec? Im not talking about wanting to leave im talking about cheering for others.

I'll cheer for every SEC team except Alabama this year.
But that's always been my stance. I really did enjoy when they lost to the Utes.

I cheer for 13/14 teams when we aren't playing them.
I think you can guess which one gets left out...

i'm a southerner at heart born and bred so MOST of the time i will pull for a southern team and a i grew up an SEC fan when the SEC got little respect so i pull for an SEC team MOST of the time. i will, however, not pull for alabama. tdhem getting a rematch last year (unprecedented) and getting the schedule discount this year added to my hating them is too much against notre dame. yes, i would pull for them against some schools but i really like notre dame. and yes, the SEC chant has lost luster with me because IT APPEARS the SEC is favoring alabama over other member schools. that's the same shite the big 12 did and it damn near tore up their conference and most certainly weakened the hell out of it.

In a word, yes.
I was raised by my father to have the mantra of always cheering for the SEC no matter what. He still does, I do not. I always used to, until a few years ago.
At one time, the SEC was the goat of NCAA and the Big Ten/Pac 10/Notre Dame/Miami/FSU were the beauty pageant contestants. None of the media gave any thought towards the SEC, so we had to be that way to prove our worth.
Things are not like that anymore. Alabama beat Miami in '93, Tennessee beat FSU in '99, LSU beat OU in '04, and then Florida, LSU, Florida, Bama, Auburn, Bama/LSU all in succession. So in other words, there is no need to prove our worth to the media anymore. They get it.
And a poster on SEC rant said it best. With Bama threatening to win 3 of the last 4, it's not about the SEC anymore. It's about Alabama.

no its dumb to mindlessly cheer for the conference. Bama winning 3 out of 4 is not good for LSU in anyway shape or form. The only danger to LSU collapsing is losing instate recruits. LSU is fine as long as we lock down our border, so the problem is bama has fricking in roads here already and every nc they win those in roads get larger. The sec doesn't need to completely suck because that would be bad but the sec being the best if we aren't winning the titles or the titles aren't being spread out enough is also bad for LSU. We need a middle ground where the sec is in the hunt but not always winning especially when bama is winning 3 in 4 years. shite like that hurts LSU overall.

That whole logic is overrated. If the SEC goes 8-1 in bowl games, and LSU is the one loss, I don't feel any better about the situation. So why bull shite anyone? If the other SEC teams win, great. If they lose, that's ok too.
