The SEC offices make the schedule? Honestly asking. I have no idea.

I was guessing it was up to the school and their AD or something but I really have no idea.

Where was the SEC to protect LSU after the 2005 SECCG loss
Well it probably was hard to argue for us to get in a better bowl that year because Georgia beat the shite out of us.

Bama and UGA skipped playing and beating the best and just played each other. Yes we had our chance vs Bama and should have won. However Bama learned just how hard it is to follow up a tough win vs a top 10 team with another top 10 team. We had 4 games in 5 weeks vs top 10 teams. It wears on a team.

Completely agree.

While I agree with that, Georgia didn't play us or Bama this year. Their big win was over Florida.

That's deserving of the SEC "sticking up" for them? The SEC should've kept their snoots out of it after the SECCG.

The SEC stuck up for them so that way UGA and USC wouldn't get stuck playing against Clemson, who played USC last week and who opens the season against UGA next season

And I'm happy with that. I'd rather play Clemson than the Nebraska team that just got embarrassed by a 5 loss Wisconsin team

The way to fix some of that is to expand the SEC schedule and drop a rent-a-win or two. There are now 15 teams in the conference, it's impossible for the schedule to be "equitable."

I was thinking the same thing when I posted that.

So why did the SEC feel the need to get involved? I don't get it.

As a reward to playing Alabama you get this? It's just weird all around.

Im sorry everyone knows that a key ingredient for a championship is a favorable schedule. With Bamas schedule we have one loss and they have 2 with ours. Bama has proven to be right in the middle of the pack of the 6 top 10 teams. They were outplayed by us and TAMU. UGA (the mentally weakest of the 6) took them to the wire. They simply had the easiest schedule. LSU has been even with them the past two years they have just gotten the breaks-backing in last year and schedule this year.

All this SEC scheduling controversy could EASILY be taken care of - just count divisional games toward the divisional champ/rep in SEC Championship game.

Or is that too easy?

Well don't worry SEC totally fixed the disparity by giving them UT and UK next season even though that skipped UGA in their rotation.

of course it is. But you never really know for sure what will be favorable when schedules are made. UGA may suck, UT may be great next year.

Completely agree but that's what's annoying. We rarely play rent a wins. There's usually one but the rest of the schedule is full of decent OOC teams and the rest of our usual SEC schedule.

Agreed but it's nowhere even in the same neighborhood as it being "this is the best we can do."

The thing that always gets in the way for LSU is Florida. We play them every year while Alabama doesn't. They have to have that game with TN. Let us play Missouri and Kentucky. It's bad enough we have to play Florida and Alabama. Give them Georgia. The west opponent teams remain, of course.

The schedules are almost polar opposites.

This isn't the NFL, I can guarantee you UGA will be better than UK next season.

Well this hate of the UF game is a brand new sentiment, as most LSU fans have wanted to keep it as the permanent opponent.

No one knows how good UGA will be next year, or UT, or Ole Miss, or SC....We have an idea, but how do we know UT will not be very good and UGA a .500 team?

Im sorry but programs who are consistantly one way or the other are like that for a while. UT wont be back to power in just one year and same thing with UK.

Well that would make sense if I said UK, but I said UT.

We know Kentucky will suck, I don't know for sure UGA will be that good however.
