What % of hip hop listeners do you think say they like Tupac just because?

I always see people saying stuff like "Tupac was the best no doubt" and it just does not seem genuine at all. It is as if they feel like they should say that to be cool. Just an observation

i'm not necessarily saying he was or wasn't. i just feel people think they are obligated to say that he is

avy is more for the redwings jersey and the picture itself, i'm more into country and rock than rap

Yeah, and they can prolly only name like 5 songs by him.

I know how this is going to come across, but Tupac was amazing because of the way he fused social commentary with West Coast, gangsta style.

I enjoy his music. All Eyez on Me and Me Against the World were good albums, but I think Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z. was him at his best.

I'd say 70% of people who claim to like Tupac have listened to less than 5 songs by him.

Lyrically speaking, I think Biggie was the best. But when it comes to raw emotion and pulling the listener in...I think that's where 2Pac excelled.

He's my all-time favorite, but I wouldn't disagree with other people that say he's not the best. I just connected more with his music.....and it seems like I know every word of every song on his major albums before death.

I both are overrated because they died young.

They are still two of the best ever, but almost everyone who dies tragically is vastly overrated.

I agree with you. I can't put a percentage on it, but I'll say that when I hear somebody claim that tupac was better than biggie they just immediately lose all credibility.

ETA: the reason being is that I just can't imagine how a person could have listened to all of biggie's stuff and all of tupac's stuff and arrive at the conclusion that tupac was better biggie. Music is a subjective thing, but biggie was so much better than tupac, in my estimation, that I view it as objective fact.

Tupac is the most overrated person ever, at anything.

I don't like him at all to be honest

Biggie was a great entertainer
2pac was more of a voice for the voiceless

So are you saying these people aren't really rap fans, they just throw the name out there cause thats all they know of? Or they listen to hundreds of songs by other rap artists but feel the need to say Tupac is the best knowing less than 5 songs?

Same reason people say the Beatles are the greatest band ever and Hendrix is the best guitar player ever. It's what everyone says
