Hey, I have a friend that is in town and wants to go to "a place that I can only eat in Nola and some place few know about but the food is awesome"

Does anybody have any recommendations?

I live here but I've only been to a few places. TIA

If I posted it on the internet, that would foil the cause.

Possibilities are endless. What area of town? What price range? What kind of food?

I get out enough, I'm just looking for something different.
He's from Canada but lives in ATL.

I don't want to do the jacquimos thing, if anything I'd rather go to Cochon.

Cochon, K-Pauls, or maybe Bon Ton.

I'm guessing you want him to get the "cajun" kind of food.

If you just want good food, Muriels, Pelican, Club, Irenes are good in the quarter.

If he can get in the door, Gautreaus or Clancy's uptown.

Cochon is a good choice. Last time I was there I sat with both businessmen and hippies while relaxing and enjoying good food and drinks. Extra points for playing the Stray Cats.
