| Let's talk Euro U-21 in Israel (Posted on 11/30/12 at 10:24 am)
The U-21 European Championships are set to happen in Israel next summer. Does anyone think that's actually a good idea? Shimon Peres said it will be safer than London, I assume that has something to do with black people. (jj don't ban me). I don't think this is a good idea at all, to be honest.

Israel is a delicate subject... What kind of preparations do they have and what part of the country?

Israel is a shitshow if we're being honest. They're not going to be hosting any games on the westbank though. Just seems to be inviting trouble, IMO

Terrorists learned not to frick with sporting events after Munich. Funding dried up and they were on the defensive for the better part of a decade. Their goal is to frick up every day life, not a special event.

Several players have come out and condemned it. Drogba, Hazard, Diaby and basically the entire Newcastle squad.

I can imagine a lot of Muslims don't like that idea too much. Probably don't even see Israel as a legit country.

They're not the smartest people in the world. I'd be surprised if they could learn anything at all. And yes, Israel as a location for any transnational sporting event is massively retarded.

C'mon, the beautiful game unites, not divides... Even Hamas will put down their RPGs for a quick game of 5 a side...

Do you think Hamas would attack a stadium with a bunch of Europeans in attendance? Seems like a really easy way to lose any popularity they have in Europe.

I would go to any match and not be worried. You could have random a-hole blow themselves up during the tournament, but it won't be at a stadium or involve the participants in the tournament.

I'm not talking about at a game. I'm talking about European fans making the trip. And also the hundreds of Muslim players that have to go play in a place they hate.

Instead of worrying about placating those that hate Israel, why isn't the question asked why Israel has to play in Europe because the haters won't let them play in Asian qualifying? My question is does Israel get in as Host country?
