So I have an invite to shoot in a high-fenced enclosure tomorrow and Friday with 2 of my friends. We have been planning this hunt for the past 2 months and made hotel accommodations in the town nearby 1 month ago. The original instructions from the landowner of the property to us were "I'm tired of feeding all of the deer in there. Please kill whatever deer you see". The instructions 1 month later changed to "Help me cull some of these deer, but don't kill the big bucks". Yesterday, the landowner said "Kill all the does you want, but don't touch the bucks".

I normally wouldn't have a problem with helping to thin out the doe population, but this guy has been begging us to hunt on his land for 5 years with promises of great bucks, only to change his mind the day before the hunt. I've heard stories of him doing the same to other hunters. He won't be within 200 miles of the place when we are hunting the next 2 days. What would you do?

Is this paid? If so, shoot him.

If not, deal with it.

I wouldn't do what you have in mind with these sentences you stated.

No offense, but to those of us with no land/time to hunt you sound pretty spoiled.

This is true...if you need meat in the freezer then go ahead and shoot the does. Do not shoot his bucks because he wont be around, like you are thinkiing about doing. No need in being a dick cause he is being a dick.

Despite the fact that it would be murder, I would be damned impressed if they could shoot him from 200 miles away.

If you are hunting big buck in a high fence it isn't the same as taking a free range deer. I wouldn't want to brag about it or mount it. Just shoot some does.

It's only a matter of time until someone posts that he and his buddies routinely kill game at that distance.

Go shoot a truckload of does.

I don't see a problem. It's his place and he can tell you what to shoot. If you don't like the way he changes his mind that is a personal conflict, don't confuse it with the economics of the hotel cost and hundreds of pounds of meat.
