Big DBT and American Aquarium fan, but never really got into Lucero; I know it's just Ben Nichols' vocals, but they always just seemed a little too dark/depressing for me to give them a legit chance. Anyway, Listened to "Kiss the Bottle" the other day and loved it, any of y'all care to play Pandora for a minute and help me out?

Tennessee and 1372 Overton Park at my faves. I love the early stuff, though.

As far as songs go listen to:

Hey darlin, do you gamble?
Nights like these
The war
Sweet little things
Anjalee
Last night in town
My girl
Tears don't matter much
Tonight ain't gonna be good

If we're talking albums start at Tennessee (my personal favorite) and work from there

The war..... I would say easily but nights like these hangs close but only because of one line.

"she had a weakness for writers and I never had a way for words anyway"

Yea alright Ben. You know you're full of shite there

Tennessee album is my favorite as well. Id suggest just putting that album in and hit play. It starts off incredibly strong with Sweet Little Thing, Slow Dancing (my personal fav), Nights Like These, and Aint So Lonely all back to back

Thanks for clarifying. I've had spotify shuffling through all of their stuff today, they're solid and Nichols is one hell of a writer, but they just don't have the sound that hits close to home for me.

Hell with that, you listen to Lucero by the bottle not by the song.

OP, get a little bummed out and whiskey drunk and there's literally nothing of theirs you won't like.

That's a shame. Their first 4 albums are really good.
