Brockers had an advantage that Logan and Freak do not enjoy:
Trindon at DE.

As far as current talent, who knows? Anthony Johnson is the man as far as pure talent goes, but he doesn't seem to have the motor. Maybe it'll come.

A lot of folks just dont realize that's the ONLY thing holding the Freak back. He had 10 TFL in just 30 tackles this year, that's plain sick. And you know he's only played roughly 50% of the defensive snaps (if that). If anyone can really improve a lot from one year to next and become an elite player, it's him. He obviously has the talent.

People overlook Drake Nevis. His senior year he was great. I think freak is our best interior Defensive lineman.

when we lost Brockers to the league we lost the consistant push and it allowed opposing qb's to "step up" and avoid Sam/Mingo. we all hoped AJ/Ego would be all that but they, so far...have been just plain ole that. seems like the guys coming in could create more pressure but does that make us easier to run on? this is what makes Beckwith an essential get and somebody like Bain gravy on the dressing. coaching/recruiting is a bitch...especially at a school where 10 wins is considered a failure. seaux it geauxs.

beat whoever the frick we face next.

if you consider brockers one of those forces, then get ready for christian lacouture. he seems to be an exact clone of brockers, as far as measurables & quickness off the ball go.
I believe that once moffitt puts an extra 30lbs on his frame he will be a force to be reckoned with.

Freak is in constant rotation but seems like when he gets hot Brick takes him out I don't get it.

Brick is too busy not teaching Mingo and Sam any pass rush moves.

Uh, Freak has looked good in limited opportunities this year. I have no idea why this coaching staff is so infatuated with Downs to even take PT away from Freak. Downs is horrible. Freak gets penetration when he's in.

same reason Hatcher took 65% of Minter's snaps last year.

brockers, nevis werent studs? Freak is a soph, we havent seen QT play yet. Greg Gilmore could be that guy as well.

Got to remember dorsey is the most decorated DT from LSU. Those guys dont come around every year.

Freak is the obvious answer and I think he's played well most of the year. At times he's our best DT. Expect huge things from him next year.

Ferguson has a world of talent and potential but it just hasn't clicked yet. It may never but if it does he can be a stud.

Quentin Thomas is the guy on the current roster to watch. Extremely talented, Brick likes him a lot and has the potential to be Logan part 2. If the light comes on for that kid we'll have a stud.

Gilmore has the talent but is like most of our other guys, a wait and see guy. Potential isn't always met by DTs. Tevin Lawson also falls into this category.

All in all, talent is not our issue, lack of reached potential and underachievers are the problem.

I wonder how good Copeland would have been at DT if we had left him there. It sure would be hard for an O-lineman to get lower than him...or keep him from penetrating!

I sure hope so. Would like to see my alma mater well represented.
