Spent the week of Thanksgiving at our new place in the Ozarks. Had a great week. My 16 year old killed his first buck (small 8pt) my nephew killed his first deer (doe) and I killed a hog and a decent size 7pt. Hope you enjoy the pics.

Beautiful area, my grandparents lived in norfork growing up. Spent years up there just hanging out at the trout dock. If I could convince my wife I would move back up there tomorrow.

Welcome to Arkansas. You did move to the most Yankee part of the state not named Bentonville, USA.

Yeah but the fishing on the miracle mile almost cancels them out. Still love that area as much as any in the state. Of course being able to grab a boat and motor or fish off of the dock anytime kind of skews my feelings of the area.

I have the best of both worlds...my folks have a place on the White River just north of Cotter and I have 240 acres and cabin 20 miles away.

Yeah I'm jealous. I have the perfect set up in the delta for bass and duck, even a few monster deer running around. But man I miss the hills, trout fishing > everything else for this guy.

Nimblecat.....we looked for 2 years in Texas but could not find anything for less than $4000 an acre that we liked. North Arkansas is an unkown commodity. BTW....taxes on the 240 acres was $600 last year.

Flippin

Best Walmart I have ever been to was in Flippin. Love that area. Stayed on the buffalo south of Yellville in October. Caught a huge Smallmouth

I have spent to much time and money in the Flippin Walmart. Had to buy 2 new tires there last week. The gravel roads are hell on tires.

Not sure what you drive, but don't chince on tires living in that part of the state. The Goodyear Wranglers at Wal*Mart are a good value.

I run MT-R's with the kevlar sidewall on my Bronco they throw gravel like the dickens but I'm confident I won't be getting flats, I'd be f'd if I did because the tire carrier was taken off and bondo'd over by one of the PO's. It looks rad but I don't have an easy way to carry a spare when I've got the BKO loaded down for a camping trip.
