I guess I'm getting old and just feel sorry for the kids today that they end up playing for the one open slot in 2A's semifinals against one of those three schools, instead of getting a chance to ever go to the finals. [/rant]
wonder where Calvary was this week... lots of kids play on bad teams and don't even experience the playoffs, your point?

East Feliciana onside recovery looked to be good but something about the receiver calling a fair catch because the ball with straight up so the receiver called a fair catch making it to be an illegal hit penalty or some BS like that on EF.

so the ball went in the air and a fair catch was signaled? I can't believe they penalized EFEL for hitting a player that signaled for a fair catch!!! Those refs are racist

What does it matter? I saw a kid a few years ago who lived on the WB of JP go to Ben Franklin one year, the next was doing work at Helen Cox. It's all about how to find random relatives in your school district. You think all those Karr kids really live in Algiers?

U-High does NOT award athletic scholarships. We are actually a public school, and tuition is lower than most private schools.

Speaking of recruiting, a Calvary parent at the game was telling us that after Evangel's line got blown up in the playoffs last year, they went to Texas and rounded up 5 starters. And they looked like they averaged well over 300#. Hard for our 190# DE's to get pressure against that.

Simply awarding scholarships does not mean recruiting, that is a different matter. In the eyes of the lhsaa recruiting can be as simple as a coach, administrator or even parent associated with a school making first contact with a kid or his parents/ guardians and trying to convince them to go ti said school for athletic reasons....

I have been witness to many of those conversations,.....from a lot of schools..

Recruiting and undue influence are two different animals....now once a kid or parents contact a school or it's representatives - the rules are a little different...

They definitely don't. But they don't have to. Karr is a Charter school. The kids only need to ve in Orleans parish to be eligible.

PBS will get skull drug by Curtis in the playoffs every time they play.
DWI

And that would make them different from nearly every school in la how....

Shame on 4a and 5a for having them in the smaller classes.....

Remember why the play in enrollment class was started and who was behind it....

Well, well. Speaking of trolls, there's LaCour. Where were you last night after the team you called garbage pounded the crap out of your highly recruited team? Took multiple gifts from the officials to award ECA the game, award being the operative word.

And for my many friends at PBS, the landscape is about to change. Remember that ECA and Curtis used to regularly win 5A and 4A titles before the puss principals tired of losing to the little schools voted them off the island. Calvary beat West Monroe this year, and Curtis beat the snot out of anyone that would play them. There aren't going to be a lot of PBS/ND games in the Dome going forward.

Don't forget that moving up is U-High as well. Also, they won't make an impact at first but a sleeping giant moving up to 3A is Thomas Jefferson. Just wait till a coach gets there who knows how to work the system. They will be one of the best teams in that state when that happens.

It is what it is..... I know some of the kids are already tired of hearing that..... PBS's underclassmen and below are pretty stout... and I have seen Curits' at the same level... and it will be interesting...

PBS wasn't a factor back when it was in same class w curtis... but ND never shyed away from them.. and Beat em.-

but yeah where is Lacour... I thought he would be whooping and hollering that since both 1a teams are from N La.. he would be bragging south la can't sweep this year...

and for those of ya'll that don't know how the play in your class rule came to change...

1. 5A schools - most notably some catholic schools... were tired of losing to ECA.. and were deathly afraid of curtis going into 5 A...

2. Neville principal tired of losing to curtis... also jumped on the band wagon....

5a and 4a principals pushed it through...

along comes katrina.. and shuffles enrollment numbers causing the catholic league to fall apart.. boom

jesuit principal spends the next 3 years trying to get a way for the catholic league back together but keeping curtis and eca out... of 4a or 5a..(need 4a votes)...

well.. it takes two tries but with ECA and Curtis in 2a... 1a doesn't care... 4a new orleans schools want shaw, hc and st aug out anyway.. 5a schools don't really care they want the catholic league schools out of the jeff parish public league..

so 1a - no dog in fight.. 2a.. I think 95% of their principals voted for the last play up change - no surprise....

3a... defenseless....

4a... easy sell... lose st aug... hc and shaw runner ups several times in 4a.... 5a.. like i said.. jesuit principal lobbied his but off....

so it was 3a vs the world....

ND, PBS, SCC, Amite, Patterson, Independence are a lot better equipped to deal with JC and ECA than all of the 2a schools...

and when curtis was in 4a they had trouble w salmen and redemptorist...

from what I understand... the next LHSAA hearing could be pretty interesting...

If the LHSAA enforced a couple of it's rules and had better investigative powers.... a couple of schools wings would be clipped...

and the schools that are doing the MOST recruiting that I have seen/heard first had reports of... are not the PBS's ND's, ECA,s and JC's of the world..

I was at a young relatives playground game in Nola a while back.. yeah.. curtis folks were there.. just watching...

coaches from OTHER schools... were ALL over Little Bobby Football's parents.... and heck.. their schools have either never won state or haven't won state since integration......

and in BR...

last year at a BR Jaguars game I saw the same thing..... and it wasn't PBS or RHS coaches all over the parents......

the whole battle going on right now over what district to put some schools in could boil over....

ND defense was in position and well coached, but EF OC lost the game. No way, with the weapons that EF has, was the game suppose to go like that. EF only ran the ball 2 times the first half . The run was there, but EF never went to it.

You're ignorant. The better team won. Notre dame gives up 43 rush yards per game.
