Curtis certainly recruits. It's subtle but it happens

I was in LA a long, long time and involved in the high school football scene...whole family still there...still go to games, with relatives and friends kids/grandkids playing. I evaluate talent as a scout for recruiting services, etc in LA...they don't break the rules! I could go on!

No reason to do that. Got too many friends there and that have passed through there.

Always in the ear of the playground kids. shite they have kids commuting from 50minutes from the west

Because it's a good school and those kids want to attend Curtis and play for Curtis!

All private schools recruit all of their students.
they have to recruit to fill out their student body. Offering a prospective student an inducement to attend a school is illegal. A coach talking to a junior high kid About his school is completely legal.

Tuition need is based on tax returns and is heavily audited by the LHSAA.

I was just messing with you. When you said they don't get kids from Texas and you had Texas as your location, it was funny. No biggie. Evangel doesn't have to recruit anymore. The name recruits itself. Curtis has a lot more competition for kids though so I could see a little bit of recruiting to be neccessary. Same deal though, the name recruits itself.

To an extent that is true.

Something generally sparks that though initially.

Curtis knows of all the good players within a 30 mile radius by the time these kids are 12-13 yrs old. They have eyes everywhere

John Curtis never played in the state's highest classification. What makes anyone think that they would do it now?

I always lost respect for Curtis over that. Why not play in the highest classification?

They don't care about anything but hardware. You can put them in 5A and they would still win state 7/10 years being conservative.

I'm not saying its illegal.

Shady, but not illegal.

It used to stretch beyond fair play, not sure if that still happens though

I know...when one of my sons was in middle school in Baton Rouge area, parents and alums from three private schools in the area were calling us, talking to us, stopping by, etc...to get our son to play high school ball for them. We never directly heard from the schools though and were offered no favors or tuition incentives...they do have eyes everywhere and know the middle school kids and coaches!

The Lafayette Parish Jr High track meet is like a combine for all of the local public school coaches. Shady lives on both sides of the tracks.

Beckwith is a man among boys.

Tonight, Beckwith played Linebacker, Quarterback, Receiver and Running back...

Last week East Feliciana lost their Starting Running back with a broken Collarbone against Farmerville. Notre Dame Were fortunate to come out with the win. East Feliciana onside recovery looked to be good but something about the receiver calling a fair catch because the ball with straight up so the receiver called a fair catch making it to be an illegal hit penalty or some BS like that on EF.

I'm sure it was just luck that 5 families with sons that are all 6'3" and 290 or larger all happened to move into the Shreveport area between last year and this and want to play football for a good Christian school and stumbled upon Evangel. Gee, what're the odds?

I figured Calvary would know, they are pretty open about reaching into Texas for their QB' this year.

EF was lucky to be down 16-14. The fair catch call was shady i will admit i didnt see him waive fair catch. ND took it to EF and the defense won the game for them.
