At their respective instruments Townsend and Entwistle are both GOATs. Is Moon? Leave off the antics and do you have a great musician or just a great performer.

Moon was great.

Townsend, I´m not so sure I´d have him in the GOAT category.

Entwistle, a GOAT, no doubt.

Loon and Ox were one of rock's great rhythm sections. Moon is my favorite drummer ever.

Pete? He was a good power chorder.

Was watching it. I think Pete was great by standards more than just the guitar. He wrote most of the songs too. His lyrics became anthems and the riffs under those anthems drove the band. You don't have to be Eddie van halen to be considered a great guitarist and Pete certainly holds his own.

After watching the rest, I am convinced moon was GOAT too.

I'm not a huge fan of The Who but whenever I listen to them I can instantly hear about 20 other bands that were influenced by them. So I'm always awed in that respect.

Rolling Stones are on now. From '78 in Ft. Worth. Mick is wearing a shirt with a swastika on it and they're blurring it out.

Two of my favorite concerts that I attended in my younger days:

1975 - Rolling Stones w/The Eagles, Trapeze, and Montrose at the Cotton Bowl.

1982 - The Who w/Loverboy, and John Cougar Mellencamp at San Diego Jack Murphy Stadium.

Here is The Who's awesome set list from that epic concert. They rocked for an hour and 57 minutes!

01 - Intro (4:55)
02 - Substitute (2:48)
03 - I Can't Explain (3:06)
04 - Dangerous (3:50)
05 - Sister Disco (5:07)
06 - The Quiet One (5:30)
07 - It's Hard (5:25)
08 - Eminence Front (5:56)
09 - Behind Blue Eyes (3:48)
10 - Baba O'Riley (5:35)
11 - Tattoo (3:06)
12 - Drowned (9:09)
13 - Cry If You Want (8:03)
14 - Who Are You (6:36)
15 - Pinball Wizard (2:56)
16 - See Me Feel Me (4:58)
17 - 5.15 (7:18)
18 - Love Reign O'er Me (5:04)
19 - Long Live Rock (3:51)
20 - Won't Get Fooled Again (12:54)
21 - Summertime Blues (3:39)
22 - Twist And Shout (3:36)

What about Roger Daltrey as a frontman/singer?

Does he deserve GOAT status?

I think he was a great vocalist and a superb frontman, without taking away from the rest of the band (a la David Lee Roth).

I don't think anyone can deny that The Who is Pete Townsend's band, but I don't hear Daltrey's name enough when it comes to great frontmen. I think he deserves it simply based on the footage I've seen from The Who's Woodstock performance (which, IMO, was second only to Sly & the Family Stone).

I've really gotten into this great band recently. So many great songs.

I don't think enough credit goes to Pete for songwriting and creating a lot of the sounds behind the scenes.

Roger is a good front man. No where near as good as Jagger.

David Gilmour, Duane Allman, and Eric Clapton would run Pete Townsend out of the arena.

Yes but different than moon or Bohham. In fact I like his style better in many respects. More finesse and less banging. Although I like the banging too.

Pete is much more than Allman Clapton and the others like them. Much more rounded. Some of his arrangements with strings (not necessarily with the who) are really special.
