Not as drastic as revolutions, but the combination of the two is when you see radical changes on behvior and policies. It is small wonder that well organized blocs with extremist views do well in post-revolutionary elections.

I am waiting for the biggest(Track)fan of the Arab Spring. He was all giddy, extolled the virtue of the Muslim Brotherhood winning. Now the group that was the political underground for years is playing the part of the mean task master Pharoah in only a few months of sitting at the head of the throne room. Who would have thunk it? The great example of the nation of Iran over thirty years of Ayatollahs wasn't availible for examination.
