I came across this article and thought some folks would like to read it.

quote:

Ryan Perrilloux is still chasing his dream of playing in the NFL, but until he gets that next opportunity he’ll be trying to inspire Alabama youngsters to pursue their dreams.

The former Jacksonville State quarterback was released by the Super Bowl champion New York Giants in September and has been working out to stay football sharp for the call he’s confident will come soon. Last Monday, he started his new job doing community outreach for Sarrell Dental.

He’ll be based out of the non-profit’s headquarters in Anniston, but he’ll be traveling to schools across the state delivering age-appropriate messages about doing the right thing.

“I’m here to come back to a place that gave me my second opportunity to touch the lives of kids who watched me play when I was here and try to give them an opportunity,” Perrilloux said on his first day of work. “Just hearing the right thing sometimes clicks on that bulb that says, ‘OK, I can do it different.’”

I think it is pretty obvious that the guy didn't need to stay around here after high school and should have headed out of state from the start.

Seems as though the further he is from here the better choices he is making.

he ruined the qb play for 08. we still would have dropped games thanks to the stupid move of sitting on our money to promote 2 clowns.

09 was ruined by him.

Bunch of dicks in this thread. By all accounts, the young man has turned his life around and become an asset to society, rather than a burden. Yet people hate him for fricking up their precious football team. That is sad.

Agree I'm an arse. Still pulling for the kid though.

His TD pass to Early against Va Tech is one of my all time favorites. What a great set up and great play.

And these are the same dumb asses that would be bitching if he was sitting around collecting a welfare check.

Bullet in the spine. Keeping him intact. Word

Seriously, the man has paid his dues. Live and let live.

How is getting a job giving back to the community? It sounds like he is paid by a non-profit to talk to kids who need dental services?

Not trying to belittle work, but it isn't "giving back" anything.
