Abuse me if you must. I had to run out for an errand and lost track of time around halftime. Was there a special presentation at halftime that made the overall game take four hours???

2:30 kickoff and final whistle at about 6:25?? Even with the high scoring and quick scoring 4 hours is crazy.

I'll hang up and listen.

CBS always is like that. They have a ton of commercials.

I was there, I blame it on the commercial breaks.

CBS
Their games are always long due to commercials and updates. I was at the game and we know to expect the "red hat guy" to come on the field a lot and stay a long time!

ETA - Expect the same on Friday.

I think the half time was pretty long. Heck, wife wanted to eat out so we drove from Lutcher to Mike Anderson's in Gonzales during half time. Left a little after it started and still got there in time to see the 2nd half in the bar there.

I think maybe CBS tries to do a whole sports show during the half time breaks.

The broadcast did have Gary Daniels griping once that they were showing a highlight reel of all Ole Miss/LSU moments starting with Billy Cannon. And they missed a snap. "I know we have to show what we have, but we have to show the current game." Something to that effect. Hell they were both running no huddle for most of the game.

They let those two idiot commentators talk at least an hour of the game.

I went to the game. I thought the TV time outs were long and frustrating. Seem to disrupt the flow of the game.

However, I suppose both teams are used to it.

It has gotten worse each year. BTW, it is official--LSU hates day games!

Did being behind, and having to pass more than we wanted too, affect the timing?

Amazing that NFL games take 3hrs with 2 minute warnings in place and college pushes 4hrs. Ridiculous.

Every CBS 2:30 game ends around 6 or 6:30. OP said it. A lot of scoring in the game. Big plays, lots of passing. I don't understand the confusion. Commercials are a given.

After a TD, I went under, pissed, got a new coke, mixed my drink and was back for the first play of the next drive.

One big difference between college and pros is the clock stops after 1st downs. They should change that rule to speed up the game. And agree that the commercial breaks with CBS seem to last a lifetime.
