The Cornerstone's injury and how it affects Austin Rivers

Rivers was drafted to be an off-the-bench 2-guard that could bring the ball up every now and then, but with Gordon's injury, he was thrust into the starting 2-guard right off the bat and is floundering badly, though it is still early.
In the long run, is this good for him to essentially go through a trial by fire or could this wreck his confidence for the forseeable future?

been thinking about/wondering about this too. i don't think it will wreck him. i think monty is too good of a coach to let that happen/having his dad be an NBA coach helps too, i'm sure. but only time will tell. it would have been better to let him kinda blossom over time than just throw him out there, though.

you're delusional. Eric Gordon has never proven anything. the dude put up 22PPG ONE TIME on a very bad Clippers team while only playing in 56 games. people need to stop acting like this guy is the second coming of Christ.

You are a fricking moron. Statements like this and your other comment prove that you know absolutely nothing.

listen - 4 men on the floor instead of 5 would be an improvement over Rivers right now. that's not saying much.
but Eric Gordon is smoke and mirrors. he doesn't want to be here, has never wanted to be here, can't put his uniform on without getting hurt, and is committed to the team about as much as Kim-K is committed to marriage.

I know more than you and I can guarantee you that. I'm not a fan of Gordon. he is not the answer no matter how badly you want him to be.

i don't think you know what that means

What I want to know here about the Gordon lovefest is how many people actually have seen the guy play besides those 9 games from last season? I doubt anyone here caught him on the Clippers and just read the statsheet about him thinking he is some amazing scorer. Dude could barely put up 22 ppgs on a shitty Clippers team. I got faith in him, but he hasn't proven ANYTHING to me that he can bring this team to the playoffs.

You can't just make grandiose statements like this and not back it up.

Career 18.2 PPG on 45.2% shooting. Definitely smoke and mirrors.
Apparently Colangelo and Coach K don't think he's smoke and mirrors either since they picked him as a finalist for the Olympic team.
