pulled the trigger for lunch. been literally 8 years since I've had popeyes fried chicken. saw the sign and couldn't stop thinking about those biscuits. called down that three piece breast wing and thigh combo with red beans and the biscuit. like a boss. no regrets.

Here's a little food trivia for the board. Do you know who developed the recipe for Popeye's Red Beans?

See below for the answer.

New Orleans' own Warren LeRuth. May he rest in peace.

Where is this Popeyes you speak of? In LA somewhere? In this area, the biscuits are small and the exact same size. Everytime. Seems as if they are thaw and serve or par baked. Nothing like fresh baked from scratch.

Edited to say: Here in MS, they're the same size and shape of a hockey puck and have the consistency of pound cake.

Popeyes is never good when I get it. I go to Brothers. Yes, the gas station. Yes, it's good.

If they had a closer location, I'd probably eat it every other week. The only reason I get to eat it all is because there's one right near my gf's house.

Haven't had it in over a year. Would love to frick up a 5pc Spicy Strip box with mashed potatoes, fries, biscuit, and jalapeno pepper. I would have to save up all of my skip days for a month and blow my load with that one popeye's meal

Popeye's is OK, but wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy overrated.

I have a Popeye's 2 minutes from my house, but I still will drive to Delpit's if I want fried chicken.

I stop at the Popeyes in the ATL airport every time I'm home. I'm never hungry, but I still stop.

And feel like a total glutton an hour later

I've talked about Delpit's on here before and all the white people go nuts.(I'm white).

When I taught in EBR, the faculty meetings were always Delpit's fried chicken. There is nothing on earth that compares to made-to-order fried chicken when you go in there. It is good when it is catered, but even better when you go in.

I see a new Popeyes popped up in the pizza place on Coursey.

Kinda strange building for a Popeyes

Everybody talks about Popeyes screwing up their order. I've never had that problem. The Starring location, real close to Perkins, has always gotten it right.

Of course, now they'll probably start screwing up every order.

That is strange...Are they moving into a vacated pizza place building, or are they joining a pizza place? What pizza place and where at?
