For confronting Spurs color analyst Sean Elliot in a hostile manner.

He's always been such a good guy though...

Here's the comments from Elliot on his broadcast that set Cousins off.

quote:

"That's why some humility is in order. You think you're dominating Tim Duncan, you get it stuffed right back in your face. Timmy doesn't like to talk trash. But if guys start talking mess to him, he's going to respond. All that trash-talking was premature. I'm not about to let these guys off the hook. Young ballclub should learn from this. Don't start talking and flapping your gums against one of the greatest players ever. He's going to make you pay. Tell me who got the best of this exchange."

Not that bad. Apparently Cousins was waiting in his uniform while everyone else was gone, waited for Elliot to finish taping, then can across the court and confronted him.

How did he know what had been said? Someone must have told him.

I enjoy Boogie Cousins, it'd be great if any other organization but the Kings had drafted him so he could be properly developed.

Do you happen to watch the local TV coverage of your NBA team?

The commentators are UNBELIEVABLY biased.

Trust me. I'm a Bulls fan in Florida and I get nearly all the Heat games on local TV. The commentators are unbearable. You would think the Heat can do no wrong. Every foul against the Heat is a bad call.

Not taking the blame off of Cousins here, but I have a feeling that Spurs TV announcer said more than what is known as this point.

Tends to be true for local coverage of teams in all sports not just NBA.

Just as I am 100% sure that yes the Heat's local coverage will be shaded by some level of homerism, I also think your view as a fan of a opposing team probably makes you think said coverage is worse than it really is.

maybe but that's just speculation at this point and unless it was something personal and off-the court related not sure it matters.

No league is going to let players lie in wait, and confront media members, local or otherwise, in a "hostile manner"

yep.

Hopefully he will start a basketball camp for the kids back in Mobile

he owes a lot to the community that helped mold him into the great person he is today.

No idea. All I read was that word got back to him.

But the NBA is definitely taking a zero tolerance policy with confronting broadcast crew members in any way.

Here is somewhat of an account of what happened

LINK /

No idea how he knew, probably either some team employee told him or one of his boys was watching the game and called/texted him.

I agree here, which is a damn shame. He is in desperate need of a career intervention. His anger issues come from a strong desire to win.
