Anyone think maybe Les Miles just knows his QB better than us?

Early in the year Mett was green and unsure. Several fumbles and INTs. Started the SEC schedule poorly. Miles went heavy with the run early and often.

The rant was begging to let Mett out of his cage. Wondering where was the secret playbook. But Miles knew Mett wasn't ready. And he didn't want to feed Mett to the wolves like Jarrett Lee as a freshman.

But Mett developed this year. Miles must've seen his progress in practice, especially during the bye week. And against Bama Mett showed how much he has grown up. And Les Miles' slow play is starting to pay off.

Now today Mett's playing brilliantly again, and has rewarded his coach for his loyalty. And Miles has shown how retarded the rant can truly be.

Or, this is who Mett has always been and Les is the retard for not unleashing him earlier.

well, we had a couple issues. 1st the WRs weren't making plays, then the OL issues, and Mett had a bout of inaccuracy for a stretch (think SC and aTm). but they've gradually let him throw the ball more as the OL worked itself out.

All evidence to the contrary. Did you watch the first 5 games?

Whatever makes you feel better... Mett isn't the same player that started the season.

yeah, crappy playcalling, dropped passes, horrible OL play. It was clear to anyone with a brain that Mett wasn't the problem.

The amount Miles unleashes Mett follows exactly how Mett improved.

Miles eased Mett into a brutal SEC.

Mett isn't Johnny Football.
He wasn't gonna light it up from day one.

I'm just not really sure Miles knows what kind of team he has. We are a non-passing team for six games and then all of a sudden, we are. We don't see RS for several games and then, we do. We don't see Hilliard for many games, and poof, there he is. We looked good the last four games, but it's been a different team each time. I don't get it...I think he is confused--or is it part of his plan? Or, is there a plan at all?

I agree RS is underused. But you can't call the guy confused if an RB disappears for a game or two. He's got 4-5 thoroughbreds in the backfield to choose from. Beasts.

And the non-passing them of the first six games lends itself directly to my point in the OP.

A lot of you guys here don't know jack shite about football.

If your offense can't make plays and stay out of 3rd and long it will look like crap. This is what we had the first of the season. Now they are making plays and staying out of 3rd and long. It's pretty simple really. This is why Les wasn't worried too much because he knew it would come together.

From here on out we will be hard to stop and man next year we really should be special.

Have watched all the games. When Mett is not running for his life, he's spot on.

Any idiot can see that we have a different offense on the field. It's not just Met. Our receivers didn't magically understand how to run routes on an off week. It's a different offense. IMO Miles has finally conceded that he's a offensive idiot.

I'm sorry.
Wouldn't you be MORE upset if Miles kept doing what was't working?

Coaches are supposed to adapt.

you've got to be kidding. have we been watching the same games? mett threw several interceptions in the red zone, was getting sacked a lot and was very inaccurate with his passes. maybe that's why he wasn't unleashed before. maybe, just maybe, the coaching staff was running the plays THAT HAD THE BEST CHANCE OF SUCCESS. now the 5th diffenent OL we've had is starting to gel and mett has settled down and shown why he's the starting qb. but it was somehow the coaches fault. i guess you forgot how shitty mett played once the sec schedule started.

Quite frankly no. Miles said the whole season Mett was not productive in the shotgun and he even put that in Metts head. Then, last 3 games here's the shotgun and he's doing better. I think miles has no clue.
