I'm sitting in DFW and just met Tony Martinez from CBS sports. He is currently working an assignment reporting on college tailgating. He has been to OK, Bama, Ole Miss, LSU and others. Most of the focus is on RV tailgating. He was on campus and in the stadium 11/3.

His evaluation is that no school approaches LSU for community attitude and partying. He did feel Bama and Ole Miss had better food but admits he only attended catered RV tailgates at each of those schools. He specifically noted the ladies at LSU were much more fun. I did ask if he had any fresh charbroiled oysters while at LSU and apparently he missed out.

He also noted that bar none LSU was the loudest and most inspiring stadium he had ever been in and the sheer number of fans inside and outside of the stadium amazed him.

Way to go Tiger faithful!

Eh, I guess its what you prefer. I absolutely love cajun food. I wanted to steal a huge pot of gumbo from a tailgate and take it home with me, but I am no thief.

That was my thought but apparently the bama tailgate he attended had some well known local chef onsite cooking.

Cause everyone in the grove is sweating their asses off loading up those fancy china and silver serving dishes with sterno keeping things warm.

Black pot jambalaya will beat the grove hands down, any day.

Preaching to the choir brother. Personally I had fried catfish, charbroiled oysters, hogshead cheese and crackers, grilled andouille sausage, and venison chili that was all fantastic Sat. Not to mention the copious bourbon and cokes.

Yeah because a tray of 40 Wal-Mart buffalo wings are so much better than a fresh made pot of gumbo.

I loved it when Scott Van Pelt said Cajuns wet their toothbrush with Bourbon instead of water. He also said TS was a little profane, but he thought it was awesome. That's a quote.

How can catering be considered a tailgate? Jesus Christ...

Lets not crucify the guy. He noted LSU dominates all aspects of tailgating and he was greatly impressed with the LSU game day atmosphere. His job is to report how other fans do things too. His personal taste pallet non withstanding he presented a glowing review.

Really! That's like putting on a bib on your wedding night and asking your wife to 'Pass the pussy, please".
