Wife and I get a "date night" for the first time since moving to Dallas in August. What are some fun places to hit? We have two young kids so preferably a place we wouldn't normally go with the kids.

TIA!

What's your definition of fun? Dancing, chillin, standing in a crowded bar, ...??? Tons of options in Dallas.

Some of my favorite chill places are Goodfriend, Libertine, Cock & Bull, Bear Union and Eno's in Bishop arts district. If you haven't checked out the Bishop Arts area it's pretty cool. Boulevardier is a new Bistro in Bishop Arts that is really good and reasonably priced. Ten Bells Tavernis down there too. Dinner at Boulevardier and drinks at Ten Bells....walk around the Bishop Arts area a little.

Or you could do Sushi at Tei Tei on Henderson and then hit Old Monk from drinks. Best Pizza is at Louie's on Henderson. Its a dive bar with great thin crust pizza. Then walk to Capitol Pub. (Henderson is in East Dallas just off 75).

I believe the lodge fits all the criteria:
-fun
-not a place you would go with kids

They have a pretty good deal on steak and lobster nights.

My wife and I are in the same boat and are in Dallas as well--looking for a good, fun, date night tomorrow night. I had recommended Terilli's on Greenville as it's our go-to spot, but the wife is looking for something different. Any ideas? We have a 25 month old and an 8 month old--nice to get out!

Don't know where you are, but we're in the Rockwall area and have decided to hit Bin 303 (google it--it's fantastic) and then we're going to the Harbor in Rockwall to Agave--they have a decent cover band playing there.

random question for you dfw folks... there was a place back in about 1980 that the wife and i would go to, when we got a sitter.. it was not expensive and a theme type place... each room had a different theme, operating room, boxing ring, etc. it may have even been a chain, it was called something like Bobby McGees or Bobby McGoos or similar.. any of y'all ever heard of it and is it still open?

probly not, crap, i just counted how long ago that was..

the place may be magic time machine? its a themed restaurant

if you're in rockwall go to Culpepper, they have live music. also the harbor is badass, their is a Glorias down there

for the OP, where in Dallas are you looking? i love Enos in bishop arts, bad arse pizza and craft beer. Uptown has a ton of good places too as well as knox henderson

if i were you id hit up Fireside Pies on either Inwood or Knox. Trust me its badass. its an upscale pizza and wine bar. its my wifes favorite place and we always go when we get a date night. you will thank me later.

Thanks dallastiger55--I was in the hospitality industry for 10 years and for some reason, when we get the chance to get out, my mind goes blank. If you're in Rockwall ever, try Bin 303 and also try Zanata on the downtown square--What do you do to drive around all of the time? The reason I ask is that I work from home, but really spend my time on the road visiting/entertaining customers.

Boulevardier in Bishop arts has a chef from Rockwall and several investors from Rockwall. Nathan Tate and Randall Copeland (of Rockwall’s Restaurant Ava).

ive heard that. i know of Nathan but dont know him personally, he graduated a few years behind me

we have 2 kids so we need to get better at branching out because the few times we do have a date night we always stick to our standards
