Rosemary's Baby (Spoilers)

Has anyone else watched Rosemary's Baby? I just watched it last night for the first time.
I thought it was good up until end. I liked the creepy atmosphere and the ambiguity of not being sure if there was really something going on or if Rosemary was just losing it. The end was way too obvious and literal, IMO. Still a good movie though. Good acting by Mia Farrow and the neighbor lady.
What does everyone else think?

The film is held in really high regard and through most of it I understood why, but for me the ending really detracted. Still a good movie, but it definitely went down a notch or two at the end.

I liked the movie and thought the end was the best part.

If I were Rosemary I'd punch out the fat bitch who stuck her tongue out at me. The room was just a bunch of fat old people anyway, what are they going to do?
The end of the book isn't as much of a let down as the movie...
spoilers for book
it gets tense because she does this internal monologue about should she kill the baby, she could throw him out the window, she even plots it, but then figures he can't be all bad since he's 1/2 her. Damian lives to become Bill Clinton.

My problem with the movie is...

The casting of John Cassavetes as the husband. Now I'm a big fan of Cassavetes, but his entire persona is the streetwise, take-no-bullshite New Yorker. When it turns out that he was in on it all the time, it just isn't that big a surprise. The part should have been played by a bland whitebread pretty boy, and in fact it going to be -- by Robert Redford. But Redford got into some kind of argument with the studio and was dropped.

That's pretty much how the movie ended. She was initially repulsed by the baby, but then her maternal instinct took over. Her son's name was Adrian though, not Damian. That's another movie.
