Tonight me and little angus were riding around and I will just say looking at stuff. Really just seeing if there were any rabbits out that we could shoot in the day time We ran across this thing on the side of a tree and I will have to say I have been hunting and trapping all my 37 years but have never seen this before

That's roaches eating a fungus. Not a nest. Roaches don't make nests. They're probably living in that hollow tree though. And yes, they're nasty frickers.

I am going in armed tomorrow with two cans of raid. Maybe a can of hairspray and a lighter just for fun

Not sure what you mean. Care to elaborate?

We may have been able to get a ticket for harassing wildlife but the only firearm we had was my ruger lc9. I can barely hit a 55 gallon drum with it much less a rabbit. We had just gotten in from picking cotton and it was dark so we rode out to locate some rabbits to slaughter when we have time.

You said
quote:

You "will just say",, cute.
quote:

Really just seeing if there were any rabbits out that we could shoot in the day time

again, cute.

I also remember everything you said in the other thread and how you said that you set a bad example.

It ain't none of my business what you teach your son, but I sure wish you'd think about what you're doing before he and his buddies have to call you from jail one night for doing exactly what you've taught him.

Yeah I don't set a good example sometimes but teachin a kid he can ride at night and look for the eyes of a rabbit and that rabbit will be there at the same spot or real close the next evening at dusk doesn't seem to me to be a bad example. Drinking and cussing are the bad examples I talked about in the other thread if I remember right. I can see how you thought we were jacklighting by what I said and I probably should have worded it differently but honestly we were just locating some cause I have a hankering for some rabbit

That tree looks like it has a really bad yeast infection.

You got a pass last time on the doves cause little angus was all dressed up in his camo, he was only 9 and he needed to shoot more to make a mess, and etc. etc. and we all thought it was kinda cute.. But, you know what you typed tonight and you know how you meant it, so do I.
Like I said, none of my business what you teach him. I won't bother you anymore.
Bonsoir

It really isn't that bad I will run down there and take a pic in the daylight and update but it isn't rotten or anything. That crease in the bark was from a lightning strike but the tree lived
