Getting married in June in New Orleans - we wanted to get some options for restaurants in the area for our rehearsal dinner. We have a party of 70 and are trying to stay around $5000 with food and drinks. Right now palace cafe is our first option. Thanks for the suggestions.

Not sure if price is right, but check out the upstairs room at Restaurant August. Great room for a rehearsal dinner and the food is incredible.

Calcasieu (sp?) above Cochon.

Having mine there in a little more than a month.

This is a good place. May not be quite close enough, but OP didn't really clarify that.

Look into the upstairs at Murials also.

If you are willing to drive, several people on here have reported good luck at the upstairs at Ralph's on the Park(next to city park).

I'm gonna throw out Coquette. Not only is the food amazing, but their upstairs private event room is adorable and they do a $35/person special event menu.

If/when I ever get married and Coquette still exists ( ), it will have a place in my wedding festivities.

I would agree on Muriel's also. Upstairs room has the balcony off of it and you can usually get a reasonable price per head on the food. Nice view overlooking Jackson Square.

I'm getting married in July in NOLA. Do you mind telling me how much it ran? And how many people you have attending?

Have ~70 ppl attending and the goal was <$100/head. So I would say b/w $5,00 and $7,500. I can find out exactly though and confirm.

how the frick do you have 70 people at a rehersal dinner?

at 5k that's only like $70 per person including booze. Could try Superior Seafood on St. Charles. Not sure what kind of places will accommodate a party that size. Calcasieu and Muriel's are good bets as any.

It may be a little big for a wedding party, but there are restaurants all over N.O. that handle large groups routinely like this.

Hell, you could even start moving into the reception places if needed. The River Room does a pretty damn good job.

i was under the impression rehearsal dinners were simply wedding party and immediate family. To each his own but damn that seems like a frick ton of people.

Depends on how you define immediate family.

Fiancee has parents that are each 1 of 6, so it's 12 plus SOs. Hell, that's 24 ppl right there w/o even getting to the wedding party.

Not saying you're wrong, but everyone's situation is different.

Well, i'm counting up my wedding party.

8 bridesmaids and 8 groomsman

Only a few are doubled up which means they are married and are in both of our wedding parties.
And she has a shite load of family.
I think i am sitting at near 60.

this might be your best bet. their private room is quite nice. I think you need a minimum of maybe 70 people though? Which you likely have.
