Holy tittyballs

quote:

Under the terms of the agreement and based on the closing price of Disney stock on October 26, 2012, the transaction value is $4.05 billion, with Disney paying approximately half of the consideration in cash and issuing approximately 40 million shares at closing. The final consideration will be subject to customary post-closing balance sheet adjustments.

Pixar buying the property has potential. Would love to see Brad Bird take a swing at Star Wars

I have more faith in Disney than I do in Lucas at this point.. so I see this as a possible HUGE deal.

I think getting it out of the hands of Lucas is a good thing. If you don't rush out and just put the first script you get and take your time selecting a good post Jedi trilogy you could really ignite the franchise again.

Would love to see someone like Joss Whedon take over the franchise.

Never thought I'd live to see a 7th film.

Who would star?

Brad Bird in charge of Star Wars would be the greatest thing ever.

Definite this.

Smartest thing I've heard Lucas say in a long time.

If they get Joss Whedon or Christopher Nolan to do this or hell even JJ Abrams, I will literally see this bitch 5 times opening weekend.

2015 is fricking stacked. The Avengers 2, Justice League, and Star Wars Episode 7 all in one summer. My inner nerd just jizzed himself into a heart attack.

This is LEGIT! CNBC reporting it now. Saints be Praised. THIS will be a day long remembered!!!!!

I'm marking out like I am 9 years old again. This is the greatest thing ever. The best thing is after the debacle of the prequels, the next film makers know exactly what not to do with the franchise.

Awesome day. I love that Disney is already setting a release of EP7 for little over 2 years away. I'm beside myself.

Absolutely. I'm kind of in shock. I had no idea this was in the pipeline. How did they keep this under wraps during negotiations?

Brad Bird is an exceptional filmmaker, but I have always believed that if you are a great filmmaker you should stick to your strengths and his strength is in the animation genre.

BTW, I just looked up the critical acclaim for the 4 movies he has directed. Not only are all 4 in the 90s in terms of overall positive critical rating on Rotten Tomatoes, but they are higher in their critical ratings via the top critics.
