Cox,and it ain't even close, the fatass had the one thing you need the most in the postseason year in year out and won one measly world series.
The bats weren't to shabby either.

Leyland is now 0-8 with Detroit in the World Series, but I would go with Cox, he had much better teams.

1-8 then. Point remains.

You wouldn't go broke betting against either of them in October. But I'd take Leyland based on head to head.

Coming from a YANKEE fan.
LIKE it really matters. The YANKS are the biggest chokers of all time with the [BUYING a WS TROPHY]. Now GFY.

I hate the Yankees more than any baseball team but that just isn't true.

PJ the WS that Yankees won were not bought..... The buying of FA led to almost 10 years of nothing till 09
But :umad:

Leyland has won a World Series as a manager, and has never managed near the caliber of teams that Cox had.
The Tigers had the 7th best record in the American League this year.
It's Cox, easily.

This means nothing for your argument considering that Cox has won one too.

I know.
People are shitting on Leyland, noting his 1-8 World Series record with Detroit.
They've each won one, and Cox has had much better teams for a longer period of time.
Hence, it's Cox.
ETA: Or just the entire Braves team. '96 World Series

Those bats seemed to disappear in the postseason

I am not a Yankee fan, but this literally makes no sense (like the rest of the garbage you spew).
The Yankees have 51 playoff appearances, 40 pennants, and 27 World Series. They win the whole fricking thing over half the time they get into the postseason. shite, nearly 80% of the time, they make it to the World Series (which they almost always win at least one series per postseason - of course, they had to win an extra round starting in 1995).
