Anybody else think James Harden wont be so great as a main scorer?

I see him as a scoring roll player, not a featured starter. Just my opinion.

I don't know what he is after how he played in the Finals.

I think he can probably still score in the 20's but don't think he'll be a very good #1 option and won't really make his teammates around him better like a franchise player should.

Well put, I agree. I can't see him carrying a team like a max deal guy should.

He's a role player. I think he will struggle in Houston. If I'm a Thunder fan, I'm happy this dude is gone.

Guy is a solid, well built, "good" player. But he's not some elite "scorer". I would have concerns if he was the #1 option. Still like him as a player though.

He's a very good player. Not a great player. Can't believe he wanted a max deal.

I can believe that he wanted it, but I'm shocked he took the Houston deal over the OKC deal. I mean what was it? $4-5 million dollar difference?

Why? More money and gets his own team.

I think y'all are seriously underselling Harden. It's not like he just sat around and shot wide open jumpers all day with OKC, he can create his own shot.

Plus he has shown he can make clutch shots in big moments. I think he will be outstanding as a #1 option if he can embrace the mindset. He has all the tools to be a 25 PPG scorer in the league.

Good shooter and ball handler, and gets to the line at a high rate. I think he'll be very good as the main scorer. Helps that he's going to a team that will prominently feature the pick and roll, where he is awesome.

He has stop being so reliant on going to the left every damn time. I feel defenses will adjust soon enough.

He does have superstar upside though, despite the fact that I am not a fan of his game.

he works great on a team with a ton of talent where he is not spotlighted

I think Houston will be a humongous failure

Btw OKC got Kevin Martin who is a solid swingman and can also create somewhat off the dribble. Plus TWO first round picks. Is there even any debate that OKC got the better of the deal?

I see him as similar to Joe Johnson. Nice player but I'm not giving him a max contract.

He better get the ball the majority of the times if he is making over 13M a year.

Based on an 82 game schedule, he is making over 160k a game. I can't see a sixth man being worthy of 160k a game if he isn't scoring a shite load of points and logging some serious minutes.

Houston will hate this decision before it is over, IMO.

This isn't TWO NFL first round picks.. do you know how hard/often it is to acquire a 23 year old talent like Harden? Why wouldn't Morey pull the trigger on the deal?
