What do these guys end up doing? More often than not I see them graduating with a major like general education or kinesology that I can't imagine pays too much as a career? What are Perrilloux and Jamarcus Russell doing these days? What is next for Jordan Jefferson? If the TM can't get his shite together and ends up going undrafted or cut soon after, what does he do then? Do these guys even think about back up plans?

That is why I admire Matt Mauck in times like these. At least he had the forethought to go back to school and become a dentist.

Either bagging groceries at the Destrehan Winn Dixie, or (if he's lucky) asking me if I want grated Parmesan on my salad.

J Mar may have pissed away his career...but he got paid. Signed a 60 some million dollar deal with about 30 guaranteed as I recall.

I'm not sure if he anything left, though.

He didn't piss away an NFL career, but Rohan Davey was working for UPS or Fed Ex. Not sure if he still is.

You can make a decent wage, depending upon what you do for them. It can be hard physical work though I'm sure a former football player would find it ok.

On a serious note, if you were an LSU player and got a degree, some Alum will most likely give you a job as long as you don't bring any baggage with you. With exception of RP and JJ, most will go on to have decent professional lives.

Matt Mauck had a big socioeconomic advantage - not that there's anthing wrong with that.

Actually Matt had the forethought and drive to end up where he is today.

(Matt Mauck had a big socioeconomic advantage - not that there's anthing wrong with that.)

Yes, the socioeconomic advantage was a four year schlorship to a major university. He also had the advantage of working hard, in the film room to become a good qb.
