Has absolutely nothing to do with it. I didn't even notice, as I was posting from my phone.

I don't have a problem with him getting something for free, it's the entitlement mentality that is rubbing me the wrong way. He is a personification of the cancer that has infected the US.

No the cancer that has infected the US is people not being held accountable. It's companies not being held responsible or elected officials. You make a mistake then
You do something to rectify your error. You learn a lesson so that the mistake is not repeated. Business is business and signing my name to a document without my consent is not how I do business and neither should you.

This. If the OP wanted to take this to court he would first have to show that he had suffered a loss of some sort. Otherwise there is no case.

I'm very well aware of that. I'm actually an insurance adjuster and very good one. What I did is no different than when you go to a Mcdonalds or anywhere and order a meal. You get the meal and it is not correct. You have to wait for them to cook and correct your order. They offer you a free soda for your wait.

They did not have to offer you anything because you were not harmed. But they made a mistake and to rectify the mistake they offer the soda.

Your meal was corrected at McDonalds but the service was not acceptable. No difference.

Yeah thanks for calling me a freeloader. I know the internet is where cowards gain their strength to name call people they do not know.

Nope. By your admission they got it correct, they just didn't wait for your agreement. It's all good, so untwist your panties.

It's not like they signed your name to try and steal your money. I'm sure if you break your leg at your friends house, you would sue them too. It's amazing people's thinking these days.

The mcds example is not a good one bc you are having to wait longer for your food which is an inconvenience. In this case, your work was probably done faster bc of what they did.

Trash.
They made a mistake.
Admitted to mistake.
Apologized for mistake.
You lost nothing.
You took several hundred dollars out of the owners pocket because they wanted a happy customer and you acted like a bitch.

People like you disgust me.

I love that you bash the types of people who post on the Internet after you came on the Internet to post your question about the best way to screw over a business owner.

maybe i missed it, but what exactly is the end outcome you would like to see from all this?

they rendered services to you. you in return own them for those services. pretty dry cut, imo.

So it's okay if i sign your name to a bunch of checks and spread them out among the city. You will be okay with that as long as nobody use the checks and I say I'm sorry.

Perhaps your employer will have the same policy as you in their payments to you. In other words, if you make an error in your time sheets, expense records, etc.. and under bill your company then you need to "pay" for your mistake and eat the money your company should have paid you.

Perhaps your company will take the same approach and of all of their employees, you are the one who will understand why your
paycheck is less than what you earned.

What goes around in life comes around.

Just for the record, I hardly doubt their handling of the check for the damages to your car is their standard policy. As an insurance adjuster, I'm sure you already investigated that angle. A simple apology is all that you were "owed". Who pays for increased costs due to unreasonable customers???? We ALL do!
