How can we argue this article? "For Les Miles, winning all that matters"

This piece spells it out and it's dead-on accurate. LINK

quote:

It looks haphazard at times, but it can’t be entirely by accident. Miles is now 82-19 at LSU, one percentage point back of Urban Meyer for the second-best career winning percentage in SEC history. His team will go into November with one or fewer losses for the sixth time in eight seasons.

Yes, it's ugly, it's inconsistent, and it's frustrating to watch. But who can argue our success (i.e. that we *WIN*) and the fact that after EIGHT YEARS it's not luck...

Any arguments out there that aren't contained in this article?

But in ranters minds, since we arent convincingly winning and blowing out the teams we're supposed to, Miles is a terrible coach

I agree, I can't complain, but Saban will probably be around 95% by the time he retires, so the record doesn't really mean anything, but we should just relax and realize he's the best coach in LSU history.

At least as an engineering major I just need to get through my 1st year so everything will get easier.

When uou can't cross mid field in a National Championship game you are not an upper echelon coach. Pray you cross your own 40 on Nov 3rd.

A missed interception or another personal foul on us means this author would have had to wait till next year to write this article.

This quirky 'win ugly' theme is really a "he should have blown them out, but didn't, so he just wins ugly and that's the way he likes it" theme.

Our offensive talent should do better.

It's called talent. This is why Les wins, but what has he won. In 8 yrs., 1 NC & 2 SEC championships. So, how great is he?? He came in on a program that had won a NC 2 yrs. before. Okay, so he stills has winning seasons, but are these teams playing to their potential?

My issue is that he cannot seem to figure out an offensive passing game. LSU has been towards the bottom of the SEC the past 4-5 yrs. If he could figure that out, he might win some championships, not just the majority of games.

Les wins because he has better talent, just like Saban. However, Saban is winning championships because he is coaching up his players.

Les needs to find him an OC that he can trust like he trust Chavis. We need someone to coach up the qb & wr's.

Bama will have a down period, just like everyone. As great a coach as Saban is, 95% is otherwordly. But hey, if he pulls it off, name everything after him, build statues everywhere, open a fast food chain in his namesake.

Our offensive talent should do better...
Our running backs ARE our offensive "talent". The line was supposed to be a talent but injuries and "personal issues" have depleted that talent. The qb making poor decisions and playing scared at times isn't Miles' fault. And receivers not getting separation and dropping the passes that are catchable also isnt Miles' fault. The TRUE talent on this offense is what is carrying the offense, the running game.

Ask Ark if talent wins. Some of u know nothing. He obviously does something right. That said our offense sucks but get some perspective.

This is why the fanbase is so up in arms. Continually watching their team underachieve on the field will always lead to calls for coaching changes, regardless of the won/loss record.

It's astonishing that you think that this isn't acceptable. How many conference championships has Saban won at Bama? You know what the difference between Saban and Les is right now? One game. That's it. Sure it was a big game, but get over it.

No doubt Miles recruits great and has the good sense to say out of Chavis' way coaching the defense. The thing that prevents Les from being an elite head coach is his inability to let the offensive coaches manage the game, offensive coaches failure to coach up great players to make them elite, and clock management. Also the 2008 season ended the coach we knew a Lesticles and now we have a head coach whose goal each year is to win at least eight games and if the SEC or Nation championship are part of the process, that okay too. In short Miles number one priority is to keep getting a check from LSU.

Aside from Bill Snyder, nit one coach of a top 8 team is without talent. So shut up.

Also, Spurrier and Sumlin are masterminds that have amazing talent as well and got beat.

Please post LSU's season records starting in 2008 (yes, the worst year in the Les Miles era) and see if you really believe that statement. If you do, then I have nothing else to say to you.

Stupid. Six over throws by Mett. Four would have been TDs. Give me one and it is a rout.

See how that works?
