Cliff notes:
His sister was engaged to him. Was a sex offender. Adam found this out and started looking into this guy and his background. This was around the same time Mickey went missing. He put two and two together. Boom, Adam saved the day. The end.

Adam will likely post in here to set it straight, but from what I recall:
His wife's sister had been dating BSL for awhile, was getting serious. Adam was leery, him and father in law did some researching and found BSL was a tier 3 sex offender. The injuries, the new truck, missing girl, all led to them being suspicious.
SIL was confronted shite hit the fan w/ the family, cops were tipped, cops did not have BSL on their radar until Adam and the woman from either the car dealer or the rental agency also called him in.
Cops truly were lucky Adam and his family were so persistent and keen to their gut instincts. Cops build case, make arrest. BSL's family convinces him to come clean.
BSL hopefully has many bad things happen to him in jail, the end.
