We often play Sanctuary CTF. We also play an awesome custom 1CTF on Zanzibar. Game doesn't end until a team scores 3 flags. Some games go as long as an hour. Strategic game but lots of slayer going on.

FWIW one of my friends has already played (and beat) the campaign of Halo 4 and he said it was his second favorite next to Halo: CE. However, I'm much more excited about multiplayer obviously.

The co-op campaign was always my favorite (LEGENDARY!!!), but don't get me wrong, I am almost equally looking forward to the multiplayer. The graphics look great too! I can't wait.. ARRRGGGHHHHh

Get XboxConnect. My brother, my friend and I play Halo 2 every now and then on there. Warning my brother is nasty good. Played in some MLG tournies when he was in middle school. Had to quit playing due to sports.

I tried to, but could never get it to work. One of my buddies got it to work. I don't know what I was doing wrong.

That's awesome...I'm not bad myself. I was a 37 on Halo 2. Before they reset the rankings. By far the best player in my area...I won a bunch of local tournaments back in the day. Went out to Alexandria to participate in a 4v4 and wound up losing because my team was garbage...came in second.
I actually used to play with a couple of pros. Usually in FFA Midship when they needed an extra. I played with Ogre 1 and igoturpistola. Pistola was only an XBL warrior at the time...not even a semi pro yet.

I've heard great things about every mode from people who have played the game.
It's funny to think that 2 weeks ago I didn't really care to much about it but now I'm fricking pumped for it to come out. Haven't been this excited about a game since Reach.

I hated Reach with a passion, and will probably just Redbox this Halo to see if I like it.

It's a damn shame the game fell off to what it is today. I used to be such a Halo superfan...when Halo was relevant. It was literally the only game I played competitively.
Reach isn't a quarter the game of Halo 2/3. That being said, Halo 2 > Halo 3

Halo 2 was the best online multiplayer game I have ever played hands down. It consumed a majority of my college years.
Like you said its unfortunate that the series has turned out the way it has, but if you think about it, there is no way they could keep topping previous games.

That's true, but I'm still hoping for a full Halo 2 re-release equipped with the original H2 multiplayer and all DLC maps. Would be the best thing ever!

I really hope 4 delivers.
Spent $200 to buy an Xbox again, yesterday, and $45 for a year of Live just for Halo 4.
If it sucks I can turn around and sell it for $200 right back anyways.
