Go back and read Cokes posts. Spot on.

ETA, not saying anything bad about Jody or his situation, but Coke makes excellent points and observations.

And I'm with the majority that is prepared to give the guy a pass for some awkward posts about a topic that hits way too close to home for him.

Some of you guys are real cynical fricks.

I have met your Dad through common friends out on False River, and you through your brother. I applaud the both of you in the way that you have rebounded through all of this and I want to personally congratulate you for your actions in speaking out and possibly helping others to avoid being victimized. The world needs more people like you and your Dad.

OK, so I review his post history. He posts in early 2009 with a Q&A. Explains his story. Then for another year or so he post regular stuff. Much like any of us. Then he sorta starts telling his story more and more. I guess I'm assuming that if he was here for publicity, why spend a year and a half discussing food and LSU football?

I used to serve your pops at Sammy's southern bistro on Jones Creek Road in the late 90s. Once i found out who he was, he never paid for anything!

Forget the haters my friend, you have lots of courage to tell your story and i'm sure some young child somewhere will benefit..

Your pops did what he did, if it was me i would have done the same thing..
Afterwards i would have dug that POS up and shot his arse again..

Gary, thanks for sharing. That is an intense story. I think my Mom told me this story once. Continue your work, it is appreciated.

I'm not taking sides but I enjoyed the article. Simply because I was in high school at the time and it was interesting to watch this unfold.

i doubt you remember the original threads when he first started posting here .. is there harm in it ?? no, not at all .. but go back and read his posts when he first started posting about it .. this is what cokes and myself are talking about .. no one is saying anything bad about the guy .. he just seems to be keeping it at the forefront in some unique places ..

Well, I guess it is his personal crusade so to speak. I did notice a 2 year span where that was pretty much the majority of his discussion

Same.

I see Coco's point, and he isn't one to make rash, unwarranted attacks on such a serious subject (unlike some of these "people"), but the harm is nil and if it raises awareness and help the guy deal with it, that's good.

In the instant case, I never thought about JP's point about NOT blowing up about abuse after it occurs as something that could further harm and marginalize the victim. But I can see how that makes perfect sense now.

and no one's saying anything bad about the guy .. if he didn't want to call attention to himself and the situation, first and foremost, why choose your actual name as your screen name ? especially on a board with so many baton rouge based posters .. i mean, virtually no one uses their actual IRL first and last name as their screen names .. i guess i just feel like he did that so that the topic would eventually be brought up on here ..
