Why the F do you care how he wants to invest his money? Americans are free to choose to eat at his place if they want. I bet you're in support of the NY soda law too. Pretentious douche.

Oh you think we are joking, but there is something honestly refreshing how little of a shite the Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives host seems to give about the New York food scene he is dropping into. "Look, I’m not Mario Batali, I’m not Bobby Flay—there’s only one of those cats," the personality told the Post of his new joint. "I’m not trying to be something that I’m not." And since he isn't trying, neither should we.

Fieri's new resto looks to be every bit the self-serving brand extension you'd hope for the man. That means his cookware and cutlery, books and t-shirts are all up front and on sale alongside dishes we'd only make in our own homes on the day before rent was due, y'know like "tequila turkey fettucine" and "root beer pork ribs." But if Fieri and his restaurant's Fender Room makes tourists happy, and keeps them out of our hair, more power to 'em. We'll know where to send the zombies to fill up when the time comes

he gets paid to travel around the country and taste some great "at least from the look/sounds of it" food. Sounds like a great gig.

So you're pissed that he is opening a restaurant that doesn't serve stuff you find appealing? He's a capitalist, he knows his market, knows what people like to eat, and he's making money off of it. What is the problem here? He's not hurting anyone and everything pictured in that link looks delicious.

I don't see the big deal about the guy opening the restaurant in NY. If you don't like it, don't go. If it's not succesful, it will close. He's got the right to open it, obviously, and sell his goods in the restaurant to make money just like anyone else who is in business to make money.

I don't like the food at McDonald's, but I don't care if they open restaurants. There are people who like it. They are free to open a business and employ people. There are quite a few restaurants I don't care for. Should they all close down because I don't like them?

Gris the mans' thread is nothing more nor less that a hit piece of BS. He has some personal angst about GF. I don't know what the causality is, but he has a Woodie for trying very lamely to denigrate the man. Restaurants do not twist the arm of customers to buy the unhealthy bits of thier menu, they just know that if it is offered that some people will order it and they make a profit at the end of the day.

Agree. Let the people and the market determine if his restaurant belongs there, not the preferences of some hipster douche bag.

It's fine that he opened a restaurant. It doesn't surprise me that his resturant is not innovative, is a tourist trap, sells his books and trinkets, is grossly overrpriced, over the top, and will attract the common folk with no food standards to come in droves while Guy gets rich off of them. But hey he's great for mom and pop resturants because he hosts a show

You're entitled to your opinion on a restaurant at which you've never eaten.

and will attract the common folk with no food standards

You are obviously not common folk.

while Guy gets rich off of them

Good for him. I'm making money on common folk, too. Lots of people do. He and I entitled to get rich if we know how to do it. I think he's an example of common folk making money. Good for him. No one has to eat there. He doesn't have a human magnet at the door or a guy with a gun forcing anyone to enter.

You're really a piece of work. This is sadly comical.

ETA: I like common folks. I know some good common folk. I even like Ole Geauxt...sometimes.

You say it's fine. So shut up about it. You clearly have a personal vendetta against the man.

I don't think the point of this thread was ever to question if it was fine or not to start a business

Not me. That's too fer to be traveling. You have to go on one of those big old thangs with wangs to get thar and Red Lobster is too much muny. We go to the Piccadilly on Sundays after we do services at the barn church once a month, though.

I don't do dope.

mehhhhh...

i went back and read all this fellers posts and he's wobbled around on both sides of the road and took so many turns, the poor feller has lost his head up his arse and can't find it.. He keeps saying that's not the point and I can't find where he makes any kind of point at all. I thought he was trolling last night and guess what, he's still doing it today... Gotta admit, he's good at it.. Anyway, I'm through reading his SCHIT (the c is silent), recess is over and the busses will take me home soon. I'm going back into class and hope he does too..
