Reasons:
(1) USCe is beatable, period, and they are coming off of a very emotional home win and will be potentially looking forward to a showdown in the Swamp the following week;
(2) Adversity builds character and this young team will rally around the leadership in place, like Sam, and will come out ready to play;
(3) This is the same team that savagely beat UW, minus just a couple of players...they are talented and can turn it on;
(4) last year all of the breaks went our way...this year, dropped passes, turnovers deep in opponent territory and penalties have bogged us down...at some point we are going to make some of those catches and punch the ball in and the lights are going to turn on...the flood gates will open...I think it happens this week; and
(5) The pressure is now off of the backs of these young players...they no longer have to look back at last year as their standard...they can look forward, take each day one at a time, each play one at a time and concentrate on beating their man and doing their job each and every down with nothing to lose.

It is gonna happen and they will carry the momentum forward into aTm the next week and win that game as well.

Its gonna happen...we go 10-2, play in the Captital One Bowl...cruch a Big 10 opponent and build towards a title run next year.

All that is good stuff. I hope you are right. But I just don't see that happening. Turnovers and penalties and LACK of execution will continue to haunt this team.

LSU is still one of the top programs in the country. I don't see how they would be looking ahead to Florida while going play in Tiger Stadium. Not saying I disagree with your points.

I don't think so. In some respects, at this point in the 2006 season, LSU looked very similar. That team ended up finishing the year pounding Notre Dame in the Sugar and was arguably the best team in the nation by season's end.

LSU improved thoughout the 2005 season as well.

This team has a strong defense...that is a major difference from the 2008 team that seems like everyone is comparing them to right now.

The offense can still be good if catches are made and they can get in a groove running the ball.

We had much better qb play in 2006.So I disagree here.

I will agree with this. IMO LSU was the best team at seasons end.

AND stop the turnovers and penalties.

South Carolina is a great team and will definitely kick our arse because they have a good defense, our offense sucks, Miles sucks, Spurrier is great, etc.

Unless we beat them. In that case they are just overrated.

Big If. If LSU beats USC, it is going to be defense and special teams that do it, coupled with a very sub-par effort by the 'Cocks. Don't expect to see this, but anything can happen.

Fortunately enough, those can be fixed. 90% of college football teams cannot ultimately fix something and have the potential to win all of their games. Talent is just not there for most...LSU is blessed with the talent.

Turnovers and penalties are mental problems that can be fixed.

Right now, I think the team is sitting around waiting for a spark. TM7 provided it time and time again last year.

If we get an early punt return or INT return and the momentum catches this team, I think we will not only beat USCe...I think we beat them by two or three TDs.

We need a momentum change...in 2006, it was the late Jamarcus TD at UTenn. We need one of those moments and this team is going to be fine.

If OBJ doesn't fumble and LSU wins...which could have easily happened...I bet most everyone on this board would be predicting an LSU victory this weekend.

LSU is more talented than USCe at almost every position...and we play them at home...and it is at night.

We will win this game.

If we don't turn the ball over or commit stupid arse penalties I like our chances at home.

On O, we will have to throw PA, screens and quick slants because of USCe's dline being in the same league as ours. It won't be easy to run it and their pass rush is intense. If we can slow down the pass rush we might get one or two deep balls IF Les's balls grow back.

On ST, as long as Wing punts like himself and Odell doesn't try to do too much when it isn't there we should be fine.

And our D just needs to forget last week and do what they do.

JMO, but I feel like that would work (although Les and Stud prolly would disagree with my offense)

I think LSU will come out inspired and play a much better game. However, I just think USCe is a better football team than LSU. USCe should win this game

This team is dead in the water. South Carolina is playing at a different level than we are right now. Injuries, lakc of leadership and no offense makes for a long rest of the season. This team at best wins two games the rest of the season.
