I was watching some old highlights with JJ and RP and I really do miss having a mobile QB. It gives us so many more options with our very conservative playbook. I think that it is almost neccesary for Miles' offense to work properly. I do like the fact that he has taken out the short side option and most of the other QB runs we are accustomed to seeing. At least he is working with what he has instead of trying to fit Mett in to the scheme. I sure hope Jennings pans out.

if we didnt turn the ball over, commit stupid penalties, and drop passes our offense would be doing just fine right now.

Mett is in the same mold as Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, etc. He just needs to learn to get rid of the ball when the play isn't there.

I never thought I would say this, but it actually may be a good option to run some wildcat on the goal line with perhaps Ware, Shepard or Bolden at QB. The red zone offense has been stagnant and adding this to the repertoire could be effective.

When Mett achieves his desired pocket awareness (with a little help from the OL and WR), the LSU offense will be a spectacular thing to watch.

Even without a mobile QB, we are averaging 430 yards pg, which is something we haven't done since 2007.

Im not saying that I dont like Mett out there because I do. He is a defenite upgrade.. Im just saying that our playbook seems to be even more predictable with a slower more conventional pocket passer. This may change as the season goes on and we start to face stiffer competition. This is only based on what we have seen thus far.

I remember Perrilloux doing it within the 5 yard line.

To soon for this thread. But I agree with the way our offense is this year.

While I don't think we need a mobile QB to be effective, I do believe that the biggest issue for our less than impressive red zone offense is because of our lack of quality pass catching TE. An athletic TE in the red zone is a huge bonus but because we only have blocking TE who have stones for hands.
