New Beers tried and ordered

Tried some new brews this weekend.
Widmer Brothers Kill Devil - Brown ale made with palm sugar, molasses, and aged in rum barrels. This was a bad beer. The flavor was just sweet, and musky. I let 2 others try it and they felt the same way.
Sam Adams New World - Belgian Tripel. Not bad belgian ale. I appreciate a good belgian, but i'm not really big into them. This was slightly above average.
I ordered the following from Lets Pour and will be coming in Monday.
Dogfish Head Bitches Brew
Dogfish Head Tweason'ale
New Belgium Red Hoptober
Southern Tier Imperial Pumking
Southern Tier "Unearthly" Wood Aged Imperial IPA
Elysian Night Owl Pumpkin Ale

I don't think that is the sole reason for those threads.
I started a thread, big deal. We can't have 2 beer threads in 1 day?

Not on a Tuesday. It's not fair for people working

I like this, since it will be less likely to be anchored.

I also had the New World Tripel this weekend and came away impressed. I usually am underwhelmed by Sam Adams, so I was pleasantly surprised.
T'weasonale was
Pumking is good, though heavily spiced.
I was really looking forward to the Oak Aged Unearthly, as it sounds right up my alley. This one fell flat for me though. It was too oak-y for me. I much prefered Great Divide's Rumble IPA to this one.
I had Red Hoptober last year and don't remember a whole lot about it, to be honest.

The anchoring doesn't really bother me, but it is amusing that they anchor them so quickly.
I have not had a Widmer Bros beer I thought was better than average.

Had Hoptober this weekend. Alright, not anything special.

Definitely a solid beer from SA.

I had a Southern Tier Harvest last week, it was excellent, do not recall having a bad Souther Tier beer. Had the Red Hoptober about a month ago, did not like it at all, would never drink again. Picked up 10-12oz Oktoberfests by different producers, but they are still sitting in the fridge.
If you have a Trader Joe's the Boatswain line of 22 oz bombers are really good....and economical @ $2.29/bottle. Had the HLV and Chocolate Stout, both are on my repeat list.

I want to buy one of those sam adams beers just for the bottle (im not a fan of belgian beers for the most part).
Pumpking is my 3rd fav pumpkin beer (behind saint arnold and jolly pumpkin). It tastes like the cheese popcorn you get in te christmas popcorn tin (you know the ones that came with chocolate, caramel and cheese)
Id like to try bitches brew but am saving my first online order after i get some money i can
blow guilt free.

Agreed....and that's all I have to add to this thread.......well ok......I did have a Tenfiddy this weekend......no good for my palette. And a Kona Coffee Porter, pretty good. And an Avery Uncle Jacob Bourbon Barrel Aged Stout that knocked 2 of my teeth out and made me ware my hat like Tony Romo.

Is there a pumpkin beer that does not have clove in it? Can't stand clove/anise/5-spice, etc.
