I think that Payton is here to stay long term -10-15 more years - now that he doesn't have the wife and kids distracting him or forcing him to move to Dallas. The year off from football should give him plenty of time to get the bitches out of his system and whatever vices he is into. He should be back next season hungry and just ready to immerse himself in the game and make football the sole purpose in his life. I think the Saints give him even more leeway to run the program the way he wants to (not that they don't do that now) and he truly ends up making the Saints his team. No more I'd-have-gone-to-Green Bay-if-I-could-as-it-was-my-first-choice attitude. He goes all-in on the Saints and retries here. Discuss...

i seriously doubt this happens regardless........

that is a long time to stay here even after the time he has put in already.........

I do not see it happening.........

Yeah, what a great thing. Frick those kids having to watch their mom and dad split up. And long as he can coach the Saints, no price is too much.

I hope all fan bases have these kinds of idiots. I'd hate to think we're special.

That the thing. Coaches keep getting younger. NOrmally the two reason a coach leaves is

a.They suck (Payton clearely doesn't)
b. they can go to a better team (Payton hopefully lieks it here)
c. they retires.

BUt we are an elite team, we pay him a ton, and he isn't gonna retire soon.

Look at Tomlin. If he keeps winning in Pttsburg how long could he coach there?

Does Shanle have a wife? Let's split them up, then split up his parents, any aunts and uncles, cousins, his first grade teacher and her husband.

Well look at all of you on your moral high horse. Payton should have thought about his wife and kids before cheating. It really doesn't affect me one way or the other how he hurt his family or how his kids are suffering. It is his headache. All I care about is the Saints winning.

He will be here until Bree's retires. This suspension has bought the Saints more time. He will come back hungry and ready to go.

No, i'm pretty sure they were disposed of after the judge's ruling.

not going to lie, and not proud of it...but this was the first thought that popped in my head (not necessarily the best thing that happened to the saints but more so that he would coach longer).

I really think we get another 10 years+ out of him. He's only like 48 or so, a lot of coaches are ALOT older than him and still going strong.
