How do you assess our WR play so far?

Posters have talked alot about the OL and LT problems and we ahve quite a few comments about WR's dropping passes.
Seems to me the problems with our WR's are larger:
A lot of the routes I see are poorly run.I hitch and go is not the most difficult route for a WR.
Even more of a problem is that receivers seem to be running the WRONG routes, leaving tghe QB confused or worse.
The unusually biased ESPNU announcers quoted Towson defendersas saying our receivers were only dangerous after the catch, but weren't so good otherwise. That seems a valid critique.
Our WRs have enough experience thast this type of problem shouldn't exist...

Average or below average. I've seen a few really good catches but far more easy drops. Sadly it seems like we do not have a real receiving threat. If no one steps up it will be a long year. From what I've seen thus far I'm not sure anyone can step up; but I'm hoping.

About the only thing they've done consistently is drop passes, and it fricking pisses me off to no end. I'm talking frick up some seriously beautiful throws. That fricking shite needs to stop now.

yeah, I'm mad about it.

What's the deal on this "hitch" route, where the WR sort of sits on the route at ten yards, kinda like the old hook routes, except with less movement?
This has almost been intercepted more than once and seems ill conceived or just poorly run, except to set up a deeper route.
Beckham runs the best routes of the bunch, IMO. Russell Sheperd, the worst.

I did not see any drops Saturday night. OBJ made some big plays, he is a playmaker, came close to busting a PR for a TD. Landry has great hands and is a special teams beast!

We have a bunch of the "same" WR. No real big target over the middle. No burner to stretch the D. OBJ, Shep, Landry, Boone, Fobbs, Wright are all of the same mold. You can see in the NFL now how teams are building their WR corps with various types of WRs. We are very redundant at the position.

Only had 2-3 drops the whole game. Right after, people were bitching about too many drops even when their wasn't.

Probably the same amount of drops last year, even with Randle. I actually think the receivers have less drops this year than last

This is where I'm at - they run block well, and they're all good with the ball in their hands...

(Do I have to say they drop LOTS of catchable passes? Okay. They drop LOTS of catchable passes. If they stopped doing that, their grade would improve, significantly.)

You dont want to average 2-3 drops per game.

not very...in ordr to be classified a receiver you first need to know how to catch...well, first you have to have the ball thrown by an upright QB...
